(Making a thread here to save a few tabs again ,_,)

so while we wait on Silverstone's CP14, there are active adapters in ModDIY and ebay. these things contain an IC to meld the two USB 5G connections on the 19-pin USB 3 header into a single proper USB 10G connection (with the fancy USB 3.1 20-pin header. (some calls it type-E? for some reason))

ModDIY link:

ebay example link (there's lots, as usual):
https://www.ebay.com/itm/USB-3-1-Fr...in-Header-Male-Extension-Adapter/123668314571

the IC involved:

I have no idea if they work (the reviews in ModDIY confirms they do o_o) but I intended to get one to find out for myself (also because I got a thing that could use a 10G connection ,_,)

(there aren't any pages or images of the CP14 to show if there's an IC on it? anyone who went to CES earlier this year can remember?)

Am I right when I think that, what they are trying to say is that the device takes two USB 3.1 Gen1 "channels", previously known as USB 3.0 and converts them into a single USB 3.1 Gen2 ?

you know when I said I'm getting one?
you know when i found out Lian Li had a similar adapter for quite some time?

guess what.

EDIT: CRAAAAPPPP. it's interfering with the PSU. I need a riser ,_,

gonna have to go blind and give the ebay seller a "it works" rating without being able to test ,_,
