Hi!

Welcome to my little build log:

I've left my HG Osmi ITX case due to limited GPU size options and moved into the Streacom DA6 open ITX case.
Most of my "old" hardware will be used int the new case with some upgrades regarding mainly the CPU and GPU.

My loyal ASUS STRIX X370I mainboard stays, even though its AM4 socket/platform is aging... But the prices for a new AM5 ITX board plus a new Ryzen 7XXX or 9XXX CPU are quite high. Used prices for the Ryzen 5th gen CPUs are pretty good and widely available. So I chose the Ryzen 7 5700X (still on its way).

CPU cooler height in the DA6 is not directly limited due to its open design. But I would like to stay under the 105mm height given by the outer steel tubes.
So the Noctua L9x65 Chromax Black Edition is my choice. Maybe I will upgrade to an Noctua NH-D9L Chromax Black in the near future- depending on the CPU temps.

GPU wise I went for a RTX 3080 Founders Edition. I always wanted a FE card from Nvidia. In my opinion they look just gorgeous and have a really good build and material quality. The used prices are also acceptable. The only downside is the limited amount of 10 GB VRAM- but my old Gigabyte GTX 960 OC / ITX has only 4GB 😅

The DA6 can be equipped with a full size ATX PSU- but for better space and looks I went for a SFX850L PSU form Corsair. I've already used a couple of Corsair PSU and they always served me well. My former ITX build used a SF450- but the new hardware is just too power-hungry for this small PSU under load. But the new one still has to arrive- as an interim solution for planning the exact cable lengths and for the better looks of the pictures, the SF450 is the PSU placeholder.
I would like to build my own custom sleeved cables with MDPC-X sleeve. But it would take too much time of my limited free time. So right now I'm looking for a good custom service which uses MDPC-X and also does the new Corsair type-5 connectors.
Any tips? Thanks!

The rest of the hardware is fairly simple. 32GB of black Corsair Dominator Platinum RAM and two M.2 SSDs.

I'll keep this build log updated once I got the missing components.

Regards
Yannick

All missing components arrived today- now I've to find a solution for the custom cables. Especially the front panel (power switch plus USB cables) are pretty ugly.
