Increase volume from 9.8L to 10.5L to support MSI Suprim X 30XX?

  • Yes, worth the trade off to be more compatible with components

  • No, not worth it b/c it is not better than the ROG 30XX, which fits now at <10L

Totally unrelated to the case, but since we are all PC enthusiasts:

Can we talk about how hard AMD is sandbagging? It's actually crazy how they could've beaten Intel by so much more than they already are. Or perhaps just saving the best quality silicon for EPYC.

So, do you guys think AMD will have the better processors in a couple of years? They sure seem to have huge momentum.

The 3900x already looks sexy as hell, I wanna put one of those with an ROG board in the T1, just holding my breath till 7/7. And at 105W TDP, should be fairly easy to cool, speaking of TDP, the 3700X at a TDP of 65W, looks like a winner for the DAN A4.

So was I, but seems we'll need the "DTX" sized motherboard to get good overclocks on 3900x and DTX won't fit in this case. I guess I'll just get the x570-I and 3700x. Or maybe some board company manages to make an ITX case that can overclock the 3900X well.

I doubt you'll need the DTX to overclock the 3900x. The extra space is mainly used for audio circuits, and the daughter card is just m.2 stuff. The x570-i and other normal itx boards should be fine for the 3900x considering they are probably built to deal with the 16 core part coming in the future.

I don't know man. The DTX uses a true 8+2 phase with 70A TDA21472 powerstages.

The X570-i also uses 8+2 phase but Asus is being quiet on the specific components. Hopefully it's a true 8 phase and doesn't use doublers, but its powerstages are weaker for sure. Could be 50A or even 40A. Otherwise they would've advertised it.

When you OC a 16c to the limit with a 240aio, the Strix may not quite cut it. Though it's too early to say.

EDIT: Impact most likely 4+2 phase. I got fooled by ASUS misleading marketing.

@Wahaha360 Would you consider putting a fan bracket on the side facing the motherboard? So when you put an AIO you can put a fan facing the motherboard who would cool the motherboard and help the AIO intake of fresh air

Also having dust filter integrated into the panels (like in the node 304) would be great

Best info so far. He says probablly 4x2.

If you are talking about 92mm fans, it's not going to do much for temps.

If you are talking about 120mm fans, that will require making the case wider by 15-25mm at minimum, at the larger size, M1 is the better layout / design.

This is my philosophy:
1. 110W or less *NO OC <85C CPU Temp, 8700K / 9700K / 9900K / 3700X / 3800X, get the A4 + 92mm AIO (Asetek 645LT)
2. 160W or less OC on CPU <80C CPU temps, 8700K / 9700K / 9900K / 3700X / 3800X, Sidearmd + 120mm AIO (Koolance HX-CU420V + Noctua A12x25)
3. 200W or less OC on CPU <80C CPU temps, 8700K / 9700K / 9900K / 9920X / 3700X / 3800X / 3900X, get the M1 + 240mm (Koolance HX-CU720V + Noctua A12x25)

Going below 10L in volume comes with increasing bigger compromises. This case is limit for Mini-ITX + CPU moderate OC + Full Size GPU for <80C. If you need less, go with the A4, if you need more, go with the M1.
