Increase volume from 9.8L to 10.5L to support MSI Suprim X 30XX?

  • Yes, worth the trade off to be more compatible with components

My first priority is to train a new manufacturer, and the only way to do that is to make a product.

Exciting...!

- Intel i9-9900X, i9-9900K (no OC), I9-7900X (no OC), 8700K (OCed)
- AMD Ryzen 2700X (no OC)
- 1080Ti / Titan XP / Titan V / RTX Titan (TBD)

A bunch of Intel CPUs...
A bunch of Nvidia GPUs...
One AMD CPU...
Zero AMD GPUs...

Come on, at least list the Radeon VII...!?! ;^p

I’m prob getting the Ryzen 3700X or 3800, but it’s not released, doesn’t feel right to list it.

I can understand not listing as yet to be announced CPUs, but the AMD Radeon VII GPU has been announced & is to be released (with immediate direct sales from the AMD website) in less than three weeks...

But seeing as the Radeon VII is an axial fan design, not a blower, you might not want all that heat flooding the chassis (hence the TBD on the RTX Titan)...?

The layout and cooling is for users looking for the smallest case for
- Intel i9-9900X, i9-9900K (no OC), I9-7900X (no OC), 8700K (OCed)
- AMD Ryzen 2700X (no OC)

It's intended for YouTubers traveling, traveling pros, and students that travel home during university breaks.

This, in my mind is more of a backpack-able product. Mostly due to the width being relatively narrow.

Can the case host some (4) SATA SSDs? Some content creators need SSDs for scratch, cache, video project files and some enjoy SSDs in RAID 0. Wouldn't make sense being so size sensitive and then requiring RAID external boxes to do the work.

Many mITX motherboards have two M.2 RAID capable slots. Not exactly what you’re looking for but at least there’s that.

Since M.2’s are a lot faster than SATA, you could use one as a primary SSD and the other for scratch, cache, etc.

That's not enough considering raw footage these days eat up 100's of gigs

May not be enough, but there will be compromises with something of this size. Older projects could be backed up on very fast external storage for example. Not ideal to some but I think 4 SATA SSD’s is probably not feasible.

It supports 2x 2.5" HDD / SSD.

Unfortunately, there is no space for 4 in this case.

This sandwich layout is sensitive to obstructions to airflow, so not using 2.5" SSD, cable mgmt, AIO tubing mgmt will affect airflow, thus temps.

You clearly haven't worked with red 6k+ footage.
Doesn't matter to me, I have no problem carrying around a portable HDD

Exactly, same thing I said. Use portable storage.
Of course, only you know how much storage you actually need.

M.2 NVMe SSDs are available up to 2TB & 2.5" SSDs go up to 7.6TB now (a really expensive Micron unit)...

So for 4000 bucks you could have 19.2TB of solid state storage, assuming you use an ITX motherboard with two M.2 NVMe SSD slots...

Go with a pair of 4TB Samsung 860 EVO 2.5" SSDs to save a few bucks, you still have 12TB of solid state storage for 2400 bucks...

Mirror the M.2 SSDs for your boot/OS/apps RAID array & stripe the 2.5" SSDs for your media RAID array...

You might want to look into the ASRock X299ITX with dual 10Gbe or Z390/370ITX with Thunderbolt 3.

A thunderbolt external storage / NAS plugged into those 3 motherboard is quite slick - probably cheaper than M.2 + SSD combo.

Any Chance your case fits an Accelero Xtreme III or an Raijintek Morpheus II on the GPU?

The Accelero is 54mm in Thickness and the latter is 59mm/69mm (15mm/25mm Fan).

That would be awesome!

If you read thru the thread, you would note that the SideArmD is intended for a maximum of a 3-slot GPU...

Now let us look at the NCASE M1 real quick...

Hmmm, three slots plus about a half slot worth of room below that...

Both the Accelero III (w/25mm thick fans) & the Morpheus II (w/15mm thick fans) fit snugly into the M1, which has an extra 10mm of clearance that the SideArmD does not...

And the designer himself has stated that this chassis would be best with blower style GPUs, of which the Accelero III or the Morpheus II are decidedly not...

Seems like the Accelero III should fit, at least with the stock fans. You've got three slots worth of space, and it's only when you use 25mm thick fans that it pushes past that.

Thx but I rarely do that stuff anymore so it's not a big deal for me

What is the estimated weight on this case? I imagine it’s very light, since it’s aluminum.

Noctua L12S fit verified, all 70mm of it (2 GPU Slot mode)
