I am looking to do an SFC 4 Skyreach mini build without an external power brick. I plan to transfer all the guts of my existing mini ITX build (LIAN LI PC-TU200B [https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811112348]) to the Mini, but I need a new PSU first.

Ideally I would use the HDPlex 400W PSU paired with the HDPlex 400W Internal AC-DC adapter, but the adapter seems to be unavailable on their website (https://www.hdplex.com/hdplex-internal-400w-ac-dc-adapter-with-active-pfc-and-19vdc-output.html). What other options do I have?

Are there just a certain set of PSU's I can use? Are there dimensions available for the max PSU size? If so I could use that to research other PSUs myself.

Can I use an SFX PSU? The Silverstone SST-NJ450-SXL looks interesting: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07F6JZ9NQ/?tag=theminutiae-20

It is fanless and fully modular, with dimensions
5.12 x 2.5 x 4.92 in

My parts are:
Motherboard: Jetway NF9G-QM77 (30W?) (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009TFOAOO/?tag=theminutiae-20)
CPU: Intel 3740QM (65W) (https://ark.intel.com/products/70847/Intel-Core-i7-3740QM-Processor-6M-Cache-up-to-3-70-GHz)
Ram: Patriot Signature DDR3 16GB 1333MHz (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005MOWF3O/?tag=theminutiae-20)
SDD: Samsung 840 Pro 256GB
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1070 Mini Single Fan (150W) (https://www.gigabyte.com/Graphics-Card/GV-N1070IXOC-8GD#kf)

Any help or psu suggestions I can use without an external power brick would be greatly appreciated.

Meanwell has some good units, but I don't think the higher powered ones will fit in a mini. My EPP-400 certainly won't fit, it is too wide. There are options around 200w, maybe 250w that would fit.

Fitting internal PSUs in the mini is kind of a jam it wherever it will fit kind of thing. The best way to get an idea what kind of space you have is to take a look at "brickless" mini build logs and see how other people fit it together.

I'm not sure the HDPlex 400 AC-DC can fit inside with a gigabyte 1070 - the gigabyte card is extra tall, so the HDPlex AC-DC can't fit next to it along the side/bottom of the case. You would need to try and fit the HDplex in front of the card at the front of the case, and I'm not sure there is enough room

I was wondering about the meanwell 400w mod! Thanks.
for a brickless build, what is the highest GPU you think would fit? if possible, a specific brand & model name please?

stuff is going to be very very tight with brickless 400. Off the top of my head, the most powerful combo I can think of that I've heard has a chance of fitting with the HDPlex 400 AC-DC is the PowerColor Vega Nano and it's a tad DIY. Your limiting factor is the height of the graphics card, and the vega nano is one of the least tall itx cards right now. Performance would be somewhere between a 1070 and 1080.

Maybe there are other cards that could be crammed in with some creativity, but I'm not aware of how it would fit yet. It's a little hard to say when the 400 AC-DC isn't available yet :) There are probably cards around GTX 1060 and lower that could fit

Even with that card, you will need super-ultra-low profile PCIE cables that you won't have out of the box, and that you'll probably need to order from a specialty cable company if you aren't already familiar with making your own cables.

@Josh | NFC has a livestream where he talks about doing exactly this :)
Here is a link to where he whips out the vega nano, and later he shows how it would fit in a mini and why you would need some special cables.
(Thanks for doing your streams Josh! I'm never available to watch them live but I enjoy watching later)
