I recently came across the SGWZONE / MOREFINE eGPUs - some interesting products as they are completely modular - you can upgrade the GPU (MXM card), the I//O module (Oculink, Thunderbolt 4, Thunderbolt 5) and of course the PSU ... pretty cool concept as this seems much more future proof compared to other mini eGPUs (e.g. from MINISFORUM, GPD or ASUS)



the SGWZONE eGPU - while small compared to "desktop eGPUs" is still around 1.25L in volume - so I had an idea ...

why not combine a mini PC with one of those eGPUs into one nice custom case?!

adapting and extending the case concept of my last 0.6L custom build, I came up with this:

What's the TDP on that MXM 4080?

Glad to see there's still movement in MXM world. I bet in a couple years we'll see one of those MXM 40 series fitted to a 10 yo Clevo/Alienware desktop replacement.

oh yeah, there are still quite a few Chinese companies producing / selling new MXM cards



during stress testing it pulls up to 160W (according to HWinfo)

I'm using an 0.25L small 240W GaN brick from "Savago" and made an Y splitter to power both GPU and the HX370 board.

Awesome, looks like they make a few different versions up to 330W which is pretty impressive.

How does the cable you plug into this thing look like? Is that DC from external brick or AC directly from mains? Why not use molex 3-pin cable here?
