My main peeve with profile posts is that half the "What's New" page is dedicated to them by default, and it's not hard to see profile posts generally have no value to add to the site which makes it strange to have them displayed in a prominent manner. I realize for my purposes I can bookmark the new posts page but I figured it was worth asking why we even have profile posting to begin with.
This also goes back to an old thread where they were disabled on the old platform due to confusion (people profile posting instead of PMing) and bot spam.
