I guess I will start Round 3...!!! ;^p

3977 - Boil - R9 3900X - GTX 1070 - Lian Li TU150 - 375x203x312 - ((7161*6432)/(23.76^1.5))/100 - Post #1

I really gotta start doing more than just drawing & contemplating on my dream 12L fully water-cooled micro tower build...! ;^p

Wait a minute, didn't we agree to use R20?

I think so

General entry rules

  • Picture of actual PC
  • Volume calculated as bounding box to two decimal places rounded up (with exterior dimensions of case WITH power brick(s))
  • Case maker, name and exterior dimensions (including feet) to be shown to calculate volume
  • Cinebench R20 must be run on CPU benchmark and screenshot must be taken with CPU-Z open on the first tab.
  • Time Spy on default preset and score is Graphics score, not total score.
  • Time Spy must have results page screen shot, GPU-Z first tab and link to result posted.
  • Round 3 PPL calculation ((CineBench R20 score * Time Spy graphics score)/(Build Volume^1.5))/100
  • This is a friendly competition, keep it clean and civil
  • Competition ends at 25 entries (new round with new benches starts after)

I hope I did this right (I have seen a number of entries in Round 2 where folks are not doing the final division by 100)...?

.

I think your case is the Lian Li TU 150?

Dimensions are 375 203 312 including feet giving 23.75
I put your entry into the ppl round 2 . .

Ah, I overlooked the (including feet) portion of the rules...! Mea culpa...?!?

Yeah, I was gonna go back & change my post for R20 (and I will also change it for the volume discrepancy)...

I have a suggestion though, since the point was brought up to make the tests a little more towards the compute side for the GPU; so I propose using OTOY OctaneBench...! It is CUDA cores only right now, but OTOY is supposed to have Octane X out for macOS soon, and that should also give AMD GPUs access to the Octane renderer on Windows 10 as well, so yeah...

Ok I'll give this a shot again even though I know my poor 8700k will get stomped in R20 by Ryzen 3.

Case is Louqe Ghost S1 with large tophat.

((3885*9709)/(11.27^1.5))/100 = 9969.64398913

no worries

what does anyone/everyone else think about the octane bench?

Is the idea to make this round about compute?

I'm finally getting close to be able to have my own submission, hopefully within a couple weeks if nothing gets delayed. My PC is still caseless but I'm making something custom for a family member ?

A sample entry with CineBench R20 (CPU) & OctaneBench (GPU) scores calculated...

89.468 - Boil - R9 3900X - GTX 1070 - Lian Li TU150 - 375x203x312 - ((7161*144.7)/(23.76^1.5))/100 - Post #x

Here my results with cinebench r20 and timespy

19.489,78 - paulesko - R3 3950X - 5700 XT - ((10.298*9.534)/(13,64^ 1.5))/100

maybe I could squeeze a bit more, because graphic card and ram is not completely finished, but quite happy as it is right now.

Here is my entry:

Ryzen 3950X
GTX 1080 Mini

Case is the CCD MI-6 by Firewolfy
Exact dimensions are w/d/h 203 x 135 x 248 mm with 4 feet (20 mm diameter and 5 mm height each)
Total Volume: 6.79644 l + 4 * 1.57 ml = 6.80272 l

Cinebench R20 score: 7735

Timespy score: 7111

Total Score:
31018.99 - GermanDrifter97 - R3 3950X - GTX 1080 - ((7735*7111)/(6.8^ 1.5))/100

##############################################################################################################

Octane Score: 162.86

Total Score:
1852.53 - GermanDrifter97 - R3 3950X - GTX 1080 - ((7735*162.86)/(6.8^ 1.5))/100

You need to recalculate, as (I believe) the volume measurement is a bounding box around the chassis, not the chassis plus the individual volume of the feet.

The volume of the MI-6, including the feet (bounding box, not individual volumes) would be 6.933 liters.

IDK if that is really reasonable, since the air gap between the feet underneath the chassis does not contain any hardware. @Aux set up the rule with the volume calculation, so lets see what they have to say about it.

Current cinebench R20 & timespy results
case size in orange means I cannot match the calculated figure . .. .

As before, any issues please let me know

Looks like it is bounding box, as your volume is adjusted to 6.94L in the above post...

@Aux , might we get a ruling on decimal places & any rules for rounding up/down...?
