So, if you were wondering which of the new GeForce cards will fit into your SFF build, here are the official dimensions (and power consumption):

24GB GeForce RTX 3090
12.3" (313mm) x 5.4" (138mm) x 3-slot
350W Graphics Card Power

10GB GeForce RTX 3080
11.2" (285mm) x 4.4" (112mm) x 2-slot
320W Graphics Card Power

8GB Geforce RTX 3070
9.5" (242mm) x 4.4" (112mm) x 2-slot
220W Graphics Card Power

what we're more concerned with is whether the 2 slot for 3080 is a true 2 slot or something like 2.2 slot...

They look like true 2-slot. I am very excited for this GPU-s, they finally did the right airflow pattern, with less restrictions, and card are not even that large considering tdp and performance. 3070 is especially interesting.

Given that the actual PCB on these new cards is fairly small, a water block may be the best option for SFF builds. You're likely going need a 240mm radiator at least.

We may start seeing builds with air cooled CPUs, and water cooled GPUs!

My only worry with the Founder's edition cooler is the hot air blown directly at the CPU heatsink face. I'm wondering how it will impact air-cooler CPU temperatures. But maybe that most of the heat with get exhausted through the PCI bracket.
Refer to this airpath for 3080 and 3090:-

I think, when Nvidia designed this, they had a watercooled CPU in mind. That mobo is an ATX one and the case looks like a full tower one. If so, then the exhausted air will not go through the CPU air cooler but directly drawn to the case rear top exhaust fan. The rad for CPU cooling might be at the top or the bottom of the case drawing air in and would not be affected.

Stupid question about RTX FE series : do you think that cablemod or others (corsair/silverstone) will release pci-e replacement cable using new 12w connector introduced on RTX 3080/90?

Though the 3090 PCB looks quite wide - and maybe too wide for an M1. I guess we'll find out soon.

I believe that the 12 pin connector that Nvidia is using on their Founders Edition cards is a standard Molex connector like this one

So, as soon as the pinouts are readily available, custom cables should be too. Maybe someone like @pslate can shed some more light on this.

I see EKWB now has water blocks available for the reference boards (which they point out are not the ones used for the Founders Edition cards):

So I've got a v1 Ncase M1 and I'm planning on ordering the founders 3080 on launch day. Am I crazy or should it fit?

I don’t see why it shouldn’t fit. The 3080 Founders card is 2-slot and 285mm. One of the bigger concerns is the fan that blows through the card will be blowing hot air directly into tower style air coolers (like the Noctua U9S), and with no tests out yet, there are still unknowns in terms of heat and power draw.

I have the feeling that RTX 3080 and 3090 won't be SFF friends...
I just reviewed announced cards and big chuck of them are 2.7x slots and 30cm long...

Even Founder's edition won't be friend of sandwich style cases...

I have a DAN A4 v1.0 and the new cards excite me, but the lack of a blower design on FE or custom boards concern me... really don't want to buy another case for a GPU upgrade. Maybe the EVGA iCX design could work...

What is the difference between Nvidia FE cards and Reference design cards?
