Case: pretty cheap compared to buying amplifier casings and there are great ones in good sizes to pick from.
Fans: IF needed, very good fans available that blow a lot of air even on lower speeds, very low cost as only need one or two per case and I have some or my buddy does I can use.
Fan controller: should be fairly easy to sort out.
Filters: very dusty here, all my gear will be filtered as need be.

I have space behind my desk on each side to wall mount or set on the floor amps on each side. Approx 4.5" deep by 14.5" wide by 25" tall. Of course I do not need that much area and have wiring to run for all the gear, etc....but more than enough room and the cases do not have to be that great to look at, black and not stick out is all I need.

Taking a look at the best D class chip amps the 3255 seems about as good as it gets for the power to cost ratio and great sound when done right. Full time RV, class D done right sounds great and lower energy use, heat generated, etc.

Lots of options and something I can work on during my breaks from remodeling, like I am doing right now.

Ideas, suggestions, etc, welcomed!

Rick

The 3255 pre build amp modules I like best get a bit spendy when getting either 4 or up to 8 of them so looking into lower cost alternatives and the Fosi Audio ZA3 seems a great way to go, good caps, OP amp sockets for op amp rolling and they sound pretty dang good.

I am planning on mono use of the amps but if I go with fully active crossovers I can use the two channels on one side of the room for tweets and mids and another amp for woofers, subwoofer, in mono.

For now I can just get one to power my temp main speakers and use an old sub I have but still play with op amp rolling.

I looked into that as well but decided to stick with my WIIM Pro Plus streamer, later will get the Ultra to replace it, and the Topping V70 Velvet DAC I have. Both superb gear for very good prices.

Thanks,
Rick

Behringer NX1000D, simple, effective, cheap for sub amp, stereo as well and plenty of power but the next model up, the NX3000D, is $10 more on sale and quite a bit more power, same size, DSP for tuning, etc....on both. $279-289, not worth it to DIY and easy fit behind one side of my desk.

I will be looking into other pro D class amps with DSP as well, a bit more money but generally better quality at least in the past but it seems Behringer as improved a great deal. I used to have two huge PA amps, AB, 80 lbs each....new they were around $2500, I paid $200 each used.

I have two Peavy 1800 watt amps but they are very heavy and class H, use to much power, need to go D absolutely.

BUT, I still want to build my own D class amps for the main speakers someday:)
