SFF.Network Noctua Updates Product Roadmap; No More White Fans

Noctua has released its latest product road map. Sorry to all you fans of white fans; they’re off the list. What is on the list though is still quite interesting. There will be a slim 60mm fan in Q4 of 2023, and a next-generation 140mm fan in Q1 of 2024. The L9-65 will get a chromax.black version later this year, and in 2024 will bring a next-generation NH-D15 and a chromax.black version of the aforementioned 140mm fan.

Yea, OTOH delays beget delays and the D15 is already obsolete. The nice thing about it compared to the other solutions is the back and forward CPU mount support...but other than that, coolers half the price perform as well.

Personally, I like working with Noctua coolers more than most other coolers. Sure they can match performance, but Noctua's mounting systems are top notch. I've had to test some really, really annoying mounting systems.

I wouldn't call it obsolete, but some CPUs surpassed the possible capacity to dissipate heat towards a cooler, as even much beefier closed loop liquid have difficulty with them. Mainly because the design of the CPU's heat dissipation is lacking. Delidding and using a new mounting bracket for delidded CPUs seems to fix this for a large part.
