Assuming the 1070 Aero inside is a standard one, its dimensions are 175x129x37mm.
A Gigabyte 1080 Mini is 169x131x37mm. So, it is just 2mm taller. Judging from pics, I would say it will fit.
And, I think the warranty will be voided when the case cover is opened.

It might well fit but I'd almost guarantee MSI won't recommend due to greater power draw beyond the brick provided with the Arctic. That and yeah you might void warranty. I could be wrong but check in their forums to be sure.

Checked a few 1070/1080 Mini cards and it appears an 1080 will draw roughly 20-30W more than an 1070 under load.
So, Sidewise, you might want to check how much power your current system (with 1070) draw under load and see if there is a spare of at least 30W before reaching the capacity of the PSU.
