Hey all! First time poster, long time SFF lover.
I just wanted to make a post and tell you guys about my last build and the current journey in swapping into my new build. In 2023 it was time for a fresh build and after a lot of research about how to make the smallest, highest density, highest power build I could, I settled on the SSUPD Meshlicious in White.
I loaded it up with
- MSI MPG Z790i Edge Wifi
- Intel 13900K
-Thermaltake TOUGHRAM XG RGB D5 Memory DDR5 6000MT/s 32GB
- NZXT Kraken Z63 (White)
- 1x M.2 NVMe Samsung 1TB
- 2 x M.2 NVMe Samsung 2TB
- 1 x SSD Sata Samsung 1TB
- Coolermaster V SFX 1100 Platinum
- and the Asus ROG Strix 2080 ti from my previous build because it was still going strong and to save money because 40 series cards were still actively going for stupid money (that hasn't changed to this day).
I built it and it was awesome and tedious and tiny. I'll include some pics.
Fast forward today. The build is still strong, but now the 50 series has dropped and much to my prediction and delight, they are much much smaller. After a bunch of work, I managed to get my hands on a 5090FE. I decided it was time for a change and I bought the Fractal Terra in Jade Green.
That brings us to now. I am actively going through the steps to test fit and measure for custom cables to make this thing both functional, cool temped, and beautiful. I dry fit the 5090 last night and it is beautiful. (Pics to come)
All the major specs will be the same.
- MSI Z790i
- 13900k
- Thermaltake 32GB DDR5 6000M/Ts
- Coolermaster VSFX1100
But now it'll have
- Nvidia 5090 FE
- Noctua NH-L9x65
- Noctua NF-A12x15 plus Fan Grill for Bottom Exhaust
The next couple of months will be a mish-mash of cables and fitment while I wait for custom cable that I haven't ordered yet, but we'll get there and I'll keep you all posted on my journey.
Does anyone have any Terra specific tips or suggestions? Or any cable lengths I should run? I intend on running the psu fan inwards to aid in the flow-through of the 5090 and have the fan on the bottom set to exhaust. I'm going to use the psu risers to create an extra air gap, but would like to keep it mostly clear of cables.
Thanks for reading and collectively enjoying tiny computers. Happy to have joined the forum. <3
