I'm using the L9x65, which as opposed to the L9a/L12S, draws in air from the outside. After adjusting the fan temp curve, I can say it is near silent from a meter apart, and I can hear the fan up close, starting from about 10cm.I decided against the L12S because I was afraid that its larger area would restrict cross air flow, since I'm using a fully interal PSU which also generates heat. With the L9x65 I have 2 sources of air intake (PSU side and top grill) and hot air is pushed out through the other side.
