I hope it's okay to talk about laptops here. I'm in the market for a laptop for some mild gaming. I'm looking at the following models, and need help making a choice.

ASUS FX502VM

  • 15.6-Inch Full-HD Display with Windows 10 Pre-installed
  • 6th generation Intel i5-6300HQ 2.3 GHz Processor (Turbo to 3.2 GHz)
  • Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 GDDR5 3GB
  • Large 1TB 7200RPM HDD with M.2 256GB SSD
  • 16GB DDR4 RAM

HP 15-CE015DX

  • Powered by the Intel Core i7-7700HQ 2.8GHz Quad-Core processor for responsive multitasking performance and energy efficiency in whatever you choose to do
  • 15.6" Full-HD LED-backlit Anti-Glare IPS display with 1920 x 1080 resolution showcases movies and games in stunning clarity
  • NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1050 Ti (4 GB GDDR5 dedicated)
  • 8GB DDR4 memory - For multitasking power
  • 1TB SATA hard drive has plenty of space to store your digital albums, music library and rich media file
  • 128 GB 128GB PCIe NVMe M.2 solid-state drive

It is okay to talk about laptops.

My choice would be the ASUS model. It has a weaker CPU, but a faster GPU.
Yep. That's what I thought, but I wondered if the better gpu was worth the trade off in cpu.

I'd also be interested in any recommendations for a gaming laptop around the price ($800 or so) of the above two.

Thanks.
