Hi folks, I have an inwin Chopin mini itx case
I would like to build something even smaller.

Here are my components
I7 8700
16gb RAM
ASRock z370 gaming itx
1 TB nvme drive
Noctua nhl9i fan

I would like the smallest case possible
I'll be using an external brick with a
150w hdplex.
So far this inwin case has been good even with 120watts I have no problems powering my devices.
But I'd like to go even smaller
I travel a bit.
Any suggestions are welcomed.

I don't need a graphics card. I'll be using the stock Intel. I'd like something like a nuc skull canyon or something. Problem with those is they don't have as good as processors.

I assume that you mean music production? Whether or not that is the case, you could try one of the @ASRock System DeskMinis.

I produce music and I have almost identical hardware in my setup. I used streacom f1c, look at my profile to see my build post.
I had to mod the top for the heat to get out, but it turned out perfect ??

...music production

It would be great is there were some with thunderbolt 3 :/

Seems like a new Space Grey Mac mini & a copy of Logic Pro X would fit the bill...?

Definitely go for the 6-core i7 (with multi-threading) , but just get the minimum RAM & upgrade that with a kit from OWC...

I was looking at different cases. The streacom f1c looks pretty good.
As well as the NFC s4. The NFC s4 looks awesome but I don't need the extra room for a graphics card. I'd love to have a super small case with good airflow and possibly a passive heatsink.

I'm going to build with an i7 8700 or i7 9700
Z370 gaming itx fatality.
M.2 NVME
16gb ddr4
Pico psu. I could probably get away with a 120v psu. Even less really.
I'd be curious to see how much I really need with a 65 watt processor

Still on the hunt.
I wish I had

If you consider going passive, might I suggest the Streacom FC8 Alpha?
It's a bit bigger than the F1C but it's 65 W certified, and up to 95 W if room temperature allows, that is exactly what you'll need with an 8700/9700.

If you're looking to make music do not use the built in mobo soundcard. I've had issues with channels bleeding audio, voltage affecting gain and lots of software/driver issues. Getting a decent DAC was my best PC upgrade so far.

Having extra room for storage or PCIe soundcard won't hurt ;-)

I found another contender. The power cool Q6 mini-itx case. I'm surprised that there is not a lot more small build cases for creatives;/
