I have a laptop motherboard that's fully functional (want to say 22nm Intel), but the laptop it came with is long gone. Are there cases or custom case ideas for a way to properly mount or enclose it and all the hardware necessary for it to be run as a desktop PC?

Not necessarily, as there are very few standards in the laptop space. Things like cooler mounting, board mounting, and power delivery all differ on a case by case basis. Definitely doable, and probably a fun project. I do warn you though, there will be a lot to figure out.

I actually gave up on the concept for now. The laptop board I wanted to use I don't think you can get to the bios iirc unless you have the screen that goes to it.
