So I learnt something today - back in the mid 90's, a company called Unicomp bought the tech from Lexmark for the IBM model M keyboard, one of the coveted early 'mechanical' keyboards..

..yeah. I may need one XD

I do have an IBM XT Model F from 1984. This is a capacitive buckling spring and is the Model M big brother.

IBM made the Model M because the Model F costed too much too build XD, just like they made the Model F because the Beam Spring was too expansive.
