I'm planning to buy a new monitor and I wanted to know what you guys think is more important; having a higher refresh rate, or having more pixels. Monitor recommendations are appreciated if you have any. The monitor I'm currently using is a 1080p 60hz IPS affair. I mostly game and watch Netflix. Some of the games I play are KSP, Space Engineers, City: Skylines, and Gmod.

Can't say without knowing more about your use case.

For me, I don't game all THAT often, but when I do it's mainly RTS or other less fast pace twitch games, but I do a lot of work on my machine, so more screen real estate is preferable (as it stands, I use a 3 monitor setup, and have looked at ultrawide monitors since it fits two windows side by side better), though, admittedly, 120FPS would be nice for the flight sim type stuff.

Considering the games you are playing I would opt for pixels.
I'd rather have a 4K screen at 60Hz then a 1440p screen at 120Hz. Mostly I think because I haven't experience 120Hz panels yet and have seen 4K/HiDPI screens.

You can have both, I choose to: 3440x1440 @ 75Hz on a 34" screen. Now all I need is the rendering power for both...
Samsung has a 3440x1440 @ 100Hz planned and LG has a 3840x1600 @ 75Hz planned if I'm correct.

But personally I would have choosen resolution over refresh rate, because I can't stand most high refresh rate screens that use TN panels, I prefer good and accurate colors and a wide viewing angle more, which IPS and VA provide.

Oh dear, that's quite the price tag.

Yeah I saw that I'm currently debating whether I want IPS or the extra hertz. Currently I'm leaning towards IPS.
