Hi guys

The HDPLEX 400W DC-ATX unit has a pinkish-red plastic housing on the PCIE socket that is going to look out of place in my build. Has anyone here tried to remove it? Is it as simple as desoldering the bottom side?

Many thanks

Drop a bit of black shrink wrap over it and heat gun it. Fixed.

If you don't use it, I guess you can remove it. But then again, one day you may sell the thing & need to re-solder it back which is troublesome.

So I agree with others - just wrap with something or paint it or just ignore it :)

Looks I will be using it after all. Might try painting it, perhaps with a silvery marker...
