I'm still looking for a laptop. Had my eye on an MSI GT72 for a while, but I have an opportunity to purchase an open box GT80S Titan at a good price. It has a Skylake i7-6820HK processor, 16GB (8GB x 2) DDR4 2133MHz memory, Super RAID 4 256GB SSD (PCIE Gen3x 4) [128GB x 2] + 1TB 7200RPM Hard Drive, Blu-ray Burner, GeForce GTX 970M SLI 12GB. This thing is a beast. Should I pull the trigger or grab the GT72?

Thanks.

How much does it cost?

Also, it's the model with the mechanical keyboard.

No, it's not. I am moving off grid and will only have solar power. I also have to be mobile, as my job requires checking fire towers semi-frequently. But thanks for the useless reply.

If I was working within a limited power budget, I'd be looking at more modest discrete graphics. My old GT70 with 675mx would likely have sucked the battery dry in 20 minutes.

Mobile ZEN with extra battery (to charge when the other is in use)?

If you're into mobility and stuff, grab some good bateries, one NUC and USB monitor and be happy, dude.

Otherwise, if you already know the answers, at least avoid to make dumb questions.

What about a more modest laptop and a tb3 eGPU dock. It wouldnt gain you much in terms of power saving when gaming but it would potentially save you some power when doing most anything else.

If you cant be helpful then be quiet.
