If a PSU is not an issue that is by far a better price than a RTX A2000.

Price is great compared to a new A2000 yes, but second hand A2000 6GB can be had for close to 200EUR here so that still seems competitive price/perf wise. All A2000s should come with a 3 year manufacturers warranty.

If you're happy with the noise of a standard A2000, I guess.
Plus the additional gamble that the Ebay seller would be not screwing you over.

Including shipping, an average A2000 will be around 250-270 euro or so.
Warranty can be sometimes troublesome when being bought from a 3rd party seller.

I got my A2000 6GB for about $450 AUD (approx €272 / $290USD / £234) - add another $5 for a couple of shunt resistors, and about $30 for new thermal pads and a replacement for the noisy fan it came with... now it owes me about $500aud.

Honestly, it's not even a fair fight.
My 4060LP trounces my A2000 in every metric that matters, it's faster, it runs cooler, it's quieter (even at full fan speed), if you add DLSS3 and lower power draw to the equation then the A2000's fate is well and truly sealed.

Good question, I'm sure I do but whether or not I can work out which one it is..

For anyone wondering about the 4060s conpatability with the J-hack pure X: I just measured the gpu area with a ruler and it ended up around 184-185mm.

So it seems we could shove a 4060 LP and a HDPLEX 250w in this thing? Pure X is the gift that keeps on giving. May need to refresh my 1650LP and 200w Meanwell...

Ugh. Neither A2000 nor 4060LP will stop their fan(s).

My A2000 was noisy as heck when I got it but was quite tolerable after a fan replacement. The 4060LP is a not unpleasant sound even at full speed, but that is - of course - very subjective.

I also think its a pretty quiet card compared to a2000. But if you want better control perhaps you could disconnect the fans, use a micro 4pin gpu fan adapter and connect it to the motherboard. Then use FanControl to govern it

Which mad man shunt modded an RTX 4000 Ada? anywhere online I can read more about this thing? The idea of an LP GPU matching an RX 6800 is just insane.

6625 is the highest graphics score I could get in Time Spy with my unmodded A2000, but this is not stable in any other application. My truly stable undervolt scores around 6500.

I wonder if the gap between a (modded) A2000 and the 4060LP closes at 4K. The A2000 does have a ton more memory bandwidth after all.

I was under the impression that most modern cards would just go to zero RPM below a certain temperature?

But I guess not. lol

Just brainstorming and thinking out loud if a small adapter board would maybe a little better.
Not quite sure if all graphics card software/drivers are happy with zero RPM readings.
Although this could be tricked with some super small micro controller (or maybe even some plain old digital components).

I will give it some thought, ideas are always welcome!
Getting the right plug-and-play connectors is often already quite troublesome
Also having no feedback on the actual temperature is not very helpful.
So from a practical point of view, FanControl is just way more practical.

So I got my card in and did some preliminary testing. It's certainly a quality card and heatsink, but the aggressive fan profile bothers me a bit. My card stays around 73C under load but the fans spin up faster than I like. I couldn't set a custom fan profile in afterburner either. Did anyone manage to do that?

I tested a quick deshroud with two noctua NF-A6 fans too. I'm setting 80C as a target temperature. The fans were spinning at 2200RPM to keep it at that temperature, which was much more pleasant sounding than at stock. It's not inaudible though, like the 1800RPM I needed for my A2000.
