CNY project:
case size is 31.5cm*34.5cm*7.2cm ,less than 8L,firstage sampling,plain 5052 Alu.
hardware:asus Z10PE D8 with 2696V4 *2 16G ddr4 2666recc *8,1080ti mini(pcb),1T M2 ssd,600watts modded internal psu(from mac pro psu),archdaemon limted directplug;cooling is dual id-cooling is-VC45 with XT140 for cpus,3fans with fan hood modded for 1080ti mini:

seems still can be lower several mm to a 7.5L case:

will replace the orginal dual fans cooling with zotac 1080ti amp 's 3 fans cooling for 1080ti mini,use the addistional 3rd fan for psu module:

mount the 1080ti AMP fan bracket to 1080ti mini：

then install back the fan hood：

now it become a 1080ti mini with 3 fans and the third fan is special for internal psu cooling:

here is the space for a modded 600watts mac pro psu:

seems the fan hood upon the psu need to be cut and make it thinner~

awesome job!
I wanted to build something similar but your solution is much nicer. my plan was to use microrax 10x10s and a HDPLEX 400 as I have 105W CPUs for the board. instead if the GPU I planned to use 2 NICs (2x 2x40G) layed down, too.

I am really curious about your solution with the MAC Pro psu
