So, I found out some stuff... Let's consider the idea tha maybe I reset my BIOS and forgot and that's how the BIOS was reset.

1) I first tried unplugging the motherboard and hard drive and resetting the BIOS and the OS was "lost"

2) Don't know if this matters, but I got the select proper boot device message when I tried to boot when I pressed F9 while the Ubuntu USB was still plugged in. I later learned what I found in number 3 below was the issue.

3) I later found that to get it to boot I have to select for my first boot device "ubuntu SATA 1". My hard drive was showing as a secondary boot device. This was with the Ubuntu USB NOT plugged in. Why is it reading the hard drive and Ubuntu as separate devices? And why doesn't "Ubuntu SATA 1" show as an option when I reset the BIOS?
