Increase volume from 9.8L to 10.5L to support MSI Suprim X 30XX?

  • Yes, worth the trade off to be more compatible with components

  • No, not worth it b/c it is not better than the ROG 30XX, which fits now at <10L

Unfortunately, I can hear my H100i's pump on quiet mode from across the room while idling, and it's not the sound of bubbles. I have a replacement on the way to see if mine is just defective, but am already looking into other options in case it's the same...
If you can hear the pump from across the room then I'm 95% sure it's defective. I can't hear mine on the extreme profile and I'm about 2.5 feet away from it. I can only hear a high whine when I put my ear next to it. On the balanced profile, I can't hear anything, even when my ear is next to the side panel.

I was wondering if anybody has done a build with the Gigabyte X570-i board? I'm trying to figure out if I can make it work with a LT solo, Aquanaut or the dc-lt 40 and would love to see some reference pics.
I would prefer the LT solo at this point with the connections downward like my current build with the z370 board.
@fabio could you tell me if this is possible, or will I hit the M.2 cooler? I would use the same 8-11mm Tygon r6010 tubing you advised.

Ok can someone just fact check this. As far as custom loops go your options for Pumps are the

Alphacool dc-lt pump - inside either the 40 dc-lt resivour, or the lt solo pump block

and the, DDC pumps inside either a Nouvolo Aquanaut pump block or a ddc top like the bitspower magic cube

what would people recomend and will the Nouvolo Aquanaut work in 3 solt mode

The aquanaut is a good option and depending on the fittings you get will work in 3 slot mode.
Having a DDC pump in a DDC top like the magic cube is what I would go with personally, because it means that I can run whatever CPU block I want to, and can possibly get even more performance out of it than whatever block comes with the aquanaut.

Yeh, ive seen a lot of people avoiding alphacools stuff (tho still want to see how their new aurora lt 240 will turn out). If i go fully custom rather than aio and then expanding it, i was thinking the ddc route. Only problem is fitting in the pump with a magic cube (other options are available) somewhere, the Nouvolo Aquanaut seems like a good option where i dont have to worry about graphics card

Now that the Radeon 6800 XT is a 2.5 slot card, I need to rethink my air cooling build.

Does anyone here have experience with cooling a 3800x, 3900x, 3950x with a Noctua L9A or similar cooler?

I've seen OptimumTech's "Sanity Check" video but I'd like to get some feedback from other FormD T1 users.

My eye is on the Noctua L9a, L9a + NF A12x15 (J-Hack Fan Adapter), or the ID Cooling IS 47K.

Looking for stock, CTR optimized, or ECO mode results so I can gauge which cooler to go with.

I'm open to other recommendations as well.

The Gigabyte board appears to have better clearance than boards like the Strix X570(not sure about asrock and msi variants), with the Gigabyte board you can take the m.2 fan/sink off and use an EK replacement or similar to get the m.2 lower for more clearance on fittings, its VRM sink is also not as close to the socket at the IO side allowing for fittings there too, though limited in options.

one of the worse boards for the LT Solo is the Strix X570, but even it can be made to work with Koolance LP fittings, the Aquanaut, barrow etc blocks should have no issues on these boards, though you are limited to one orientation still.
here is an LT solo build on the strix:

I cool a 3950x with a C7g with noctua fan swap in an A4 whilst i wait on my T1 to arrive and switch to 240mm water., prior to this i had a 1700 under an l9a.
the c7g is keeping ym 3950x cool enough for gaming and daily workloads and running a few VM's etc, I also have it in eco mode.
but if I smash it with say 2 bluray encodes and get the cpu up to 90% on all cores then it will thermal throttle after a while. it will turbo to 4ghz in gaming though as it only needs to boost 1-2 cores for this.
That said I do not recommend it, my setup has always been a palceholder cooling solution till i get a T1, a 3800x in eco mode or with SMT off (i don't know what your workloads are) and if you are willing to run the fans at 100% (i cap mine at 70% max for noise) then you would probably be fine, my 1700 on l9a never got over 75deg in 100% load in summer (32deg abient)

having additional case airflow that my Dan A4 has zero of would air a great deal as well, so air cooling with these LP air coolers would be more effective in the T1 than a Dan A4 for sure.

Strange thought. . .240mm air cooler with heat pipes to the cpu? would be 100% bespoke, but pretty cool, similar to the way Shuttle used to cool their old systems where they heat piped to a fin array on the exhaust of the case with a fan that was case exhaust and cpu cooler, kinda like a mini AIO but not an AIO. Worked really well for my skt939 AMD chip i had back then!

Nothing beats the AXP 90 full copper below 50mm.

So I'm doing some brainstorming - RTX 3070 FE has a very short PCB, looks about ITX length - so I'm planning a loop using one of these with one of EK's FLT 120 res's as it's 58mm thick including mounting elements and then run the case in 2 slot mode with a standard waterblock and rad and probably hard tubed.

Waiting for EK to confirm their measurements include the pump

Is the Black version 210$ and the E-White version 260$? That's a pretty steep price for a color difference.

From my experience with mechanical keyboards, e-coatings (e-yellow, e-white) are always more expensive to manufacture than regular anodization - and on keyboards you just have to treat ~2 parts per unit - the T1 has many more parts per unit. Seems like a somewhat reasonable increase for a premium version that has more costs attached to it.

From Alphacool: The Eisbaer Aurora LT series will no longer be published this year. We have decided to make a change to the EIsbaer LT Aurora to increase the performance. But this will lead to a delay of about 2-3 months.
Well that cocks things up a bit. I currently have a NZXT kraken x52, and my case is arriving very very soon. My plan was to build it and temporarily use the kraken without the top pannel on untill i could get my hands on the new aurora lt, my plan was then to gradually phase out the aio with better components like @Wahaha360 's cold plate and 17mm rad.

I dont necessarily know if i want to get something like the EK AIO that cant be expanded
