Increase volume from 9.8L to 10.5L to support MSI Suprim X 30XX?

  • Yes, worth the trade off to be more compatible with components

  • No, not worth it b/c it is not better than the ROG 30XX, which fits now at <10L

If you are talking about 92mm fans, it's not going to do much for temps.

If you are talking about 120mm fans, that will require making the case wider by 15-25mm at minimum, at the larger size, M1 is the better layout / design.
Why would it need to be wider? I'm not talking about putting a water cooling radiator on the side panel, just a fan, and an AIO pump is a lot slimer than a radiator, so they should have enough space to put a slim fan on top of it, it just need a bracket to fix it (or did you ditch the possibility to put the case in a 2 slot mode?)

And for the benefit, if you use the AIO to extract air from your case, first of all it have to put some effort to suck all the air from the case, but most importantly your motherboard get barely any airflow and risk to get hot

2. 160W or less OC on CPU <80C CPU temps, 8700K / 9700K / 9900K / 3700X / 3800X, Sidearmd + 120mm AIO (Koolance HX-CU420V + Noctua A12x25)

could you explain the 120mm AIO and koolance? Isnt that HX-CU420V just a radiator? How do you fit an AIO + HX-CU420V ?

Making it wider is necessary for 120mm fan. For Asus Z390-ITX or upcoming X570 mobos, a 120mm fan will conflict with either the heatsink or the RAM. That's 44mm tall of space you can't use with 120mm fan on these mobos. You have only 48mm clearance in 3 GPU slot mode. So the only way to fit this 120mm fan is to make the case wider.

In 2 GPU slot mode, you can fit a 120mm fan and still clear mobos like the Asus Z390I, but you will need a heat sink exactly 45mm tall, and there are not many at that size iirc. If you use Noctua L9I or Cryorig C7, it leaves a gap between the fan and the heatsink, you CPU cooling performance will suffer. So I think it's not a good use of space or energy.

92mm fans don't move the needle on cooling, again, not a good use of space or energy.

Speaking of the X570, are you at computex? Does it look like any of the X570 will fit the L12s? Think best bet is gonna be using an X450/B450 board and sticking to an 6/8 core.

Well I don't want to put a heatsink but an AIO waterblock/pump, so it's just space that isn't use anyway and that would make a good intake of fresh air, especially for the motherboard.

And on a side note for 92mm fans, a NF-A9 PWM displace 78.9 m³/h when a NF-AF12x25 displace 102.1, so that's just 20% less airflow

I'm not, others are. The pictures of X570 ITX boards doesn't seem to work with Noctua L12, but then again, you can remove the heatsink or dremel...lol

How feasible would a Custom Loop (Stock CPU + GPU) be in a case of this layout and size? For example with the Alphacool LT240. Would the pump and radiator be enough or is it a bad idea? Will the Motherboard temperatures be acceptable?

This is my philosophy:
1. 110W or less *NO OC <85C CPU Temp, 8700K / 9700K / 9900K / 3700X / 3800X, get the A4 + 92mm AIO (Asetek 645LT)
2. 160W or less OC on CPU <80C CPU temps, 8700K / 9700K / 9900K / 3700X / 3800X, Sidearmd + 120mm AIO (Koolance HX-CU420V + Noctua A12x25)
3. 200W or less OC on CPU <80C CPU temps, 8700K / 9700K / 9900K / 9920X / 3700X / 3800X / 3900X, get the M1 + 240mm (Koolance HX-CU720V + Noctua A12x25)

Going below 10L in volume comes with increasing bigger compromises. This case is limit for Mini-ITX + CPU moderate OC + Full Size GPU for <80C. If you need less, go with the A4, if you need more, go with the M1.

When comparing the SidearmD to the Ncase M1, which option would provide the most cooling potential?:
Ncase M1 with U9S (window panel configuration) or Sidearmd with the optimal aio configuration, etc.

I want to potentially use a 3900x when its out, but dont want to use a 240aio config in the Ncase, so wondering if air cooling the cpu in Ncase would provide better results than the sidearmd with aio, or would they be comparable in that situation.

Just about to board my flight back home, but will leave you guys with this for now ?

Thanks @Wahaha360 for letting me shoot ?

also, what happened to the UI here? I could barely find this thread.
Can’t wait for your video! Thanks for sharing, we were all going nuts here ?

Now we’ll be agonizing while we wait for your video refreshing your channel like maniacs.

I guess the UI is a work in progress...

Have a good flight!

Registered to say that we've already been agonizing and refreshing his channel like maniacs for all of computex ?
