Gigabyte have just recently announced their Alpine Ridge AIC!

It allows Thunderbolt ready motherboards (including the Asrock X99 mATX boards in principle) to upgrade to the new protocol.

Asus have an AIC as well but it's nowhere near as elegant or fully featured IMO.

With single cable docks, external GPUs, 10Gb Ethernet, 100W charging capabilities and active optical cables over 60m there are a lot of potential applications for SFF.
