As the Alpenföhn Black Ridge is back in the shelfs with a fixed version (they have changed the soldering issues and the colour is now more black-nickel then the first launched matte-black I preferred) anyways:
Before I am going to test the V2 I’m going to present you my results and content I’ve done with a well working V1 that was not effected with the bad batch. Here is the VLP + 120mm fan option with a Z390 Board by MSI to confirm the compatibility. It’s just a showcase and information about VLP RAM in general...tests are going to follow soon! In german tho! :D The Temps & Benchmarks will be international. Cheers

Its fitting together with the FX 4.7L case like a champ and should be the best option for CPU cooling! Was able to run my i7-8700K @5GHz with temps below the 70°C while gaming...thats amazing especially when you consider the size of those cases! <3 More content arround the FX Series by Custom_MOD and how to get it setup will follow soon! :) Cheers

Hi There @surgiiua

I'm interested in ordering a Customod Mini 3.2L or 3.9L.

1) The 3.9L mini has BRIGHT GREEN internal motherboard tray in the photos. I really Like it.
Is this what I will receive when I order the Customod Mini ?

2) The website says, "Cases under the order until April 19th".
Does this mean that the Cut off for orders is April 19th and the items will ship out on June 10th?

Hope you can get back to me before the deadline for ordering.

Regards

For anybody interested in my temperature results and expected noise level of the Black Ridge running a 92mm fan to keep the i7-8700K @5.0GHz nice and comfy, feel free to skip directly to 14:36 to see my results! ;)
By the way: for my testing I've let the system for 30 min. in idle and then run 5x Cinebench R15 directly in a row with one IntelBurnTest run to validate general stability of the system and get the same amount of peak load through the two setups!
Prime95 is stable but will throttle at 5.0GHz and AVX loads...thats why I didn't bother!

I've finished my first bunch of actual gaming tests measuring FPS! :)
My tests include 7 relevant game titles for 2019 that I've tested in 4K (2160p) and 1080p max. settings...
The Games were: Anthem, Apex Legends, Battlefield V, Fortnite, Ghost Recon Wildlands, Metro Exodus, PUBG and SCUM!
Just to be clear about it: THIS IS THE BEST POSSIBLE HARDWARE CONFIGURATION YOU CAN GET INSIDE THE FX 4.7L!

For everybody not capable of the german language...feel free to jump directly to 6:00 for the results only! ;)

3840x2160p all max. settings (AVG FPS out of 7 game titles):
AVG FPS: 51.1
Min. FPS: 30.6
Max. FPS: 79.1
1% low FPS: 64.3
01.% low FPS: 20.0

AVG FPS: 34.9 / 70.6 / 57.7 / 54.5 / 51.4 / 55.4 / 33.4 = 357.9 : 7 = 51.1
Min. FPS: 24.1 / 35.8 / 36.7 / 46.5 / 31.8 / 24.8 / 14.8 = 214.5 : 7 = 30.6
Max. FPS: 57.9 / 114.3 / 91.3 / 64.7 / 74.2 / 109.9 / 41.5 = 553.8 : 7 = 79.1
1% low FPS: 25.6 / 40.4 / 41.3 / 43.6 / 37.6 / 39.4 / 22.1 = 450.0 : 7 = 64.3
01.% low FPS: 22.6 / 36.9 / 14.3 / 19.5 / 30.5 / 14.9 / 1.5 = 140.2 : 7 = 20.0

1920x1080p all max. settings (AVG FPS out of 7 game titles):
AVG FPS: 125.3
Min. FPS: 71.2
Max. FPS: 194.3
1% low FPS: 73.3
01.% low FPS: 32.8

AVG FPS: 107.6 / 137.7 / 136.3 / 145.2 / 134.2 / 152.4 / 64.0 = 877.4 : 7 = 125.3
Min. FPS: 76.4 / 78.9 / 95.5 / 54.8 / 69.4 / 105.3 / 17.8 = 498.1 : 7 = 71.2
Max. FPS: 150.0 / 144.9 / 200.4 / 258.3 / 204.9 / 266.8 / 134.7 = 1360.0 : 7 = 194.3
1% low FPS: 60.1 / 77.6 / 97.7 / 60.2 / 80.4 / 96.3 / 40.8 = 513.1 : 7 = 73.3
01.% low FPS: 25.6 / 52.0 / 32.0 / 13.5 / 68.2 / 31.3 / 7.1 = 229.7 : 7 = 32.8

System contains an i7-8700K overclocked to 5.0GHz and is cooled with an Alpenföhn Black Ridge with 120mm fan upgrade, 16GB VLP RAM @2666MHz and the star of the show...a RTX 2070! The currently most powerful GPU that fullfills the ITX standard and fits nice and comfortably inside the FX 4.7L mini by Custom Mod! ;) Hopefully my testing results help some of you out to get a better image of what you can cram inside a case that small! Cheers

I think that's pretty amazing that you can get an 8700k stable at 5 GHz inside such a small case! Are there any other sff CPU coolers that are good enough to cool an 8700k @ 5ghz?

There is the Asetek 545LC / 645LT 92mm AIO but that’s another concept. I personally like the Noctua NH-L12S which was able to cool the same configuration. And similarly from the structure is the Thermalright AXP-100 but all those solutions are way bigger. The Black Ridge does cool phenomenally well and with VLP RAM and 120mm Fan it’s a champ in its size! :) I know that the Cooltek LP53 does have many positive backers. The C7 by Cryorig is a great cooler in the same height as the Black Ridge but it’s freaking loud and doesn’t make the job even close as well as the Alpenföhn Black Ridge. Just to give you a bit of an overview...:) Glad my results helped you out!

After I've presented you the previous king in the 47mm height range, I couldn't resist and had to get my hands on the new Cryorig C7G which is a better revision of the C7CU. Completly made out off copper and coated in graphite. In this video I've done just a quick comparison with my results of the Thermalright AXP-100 Copper, but I promise the overview with Asetek 645LT and Alpenföhn Black Ridge will follow soon to find out who can cool down 140W TDP inside this small formfactor most efficiently! :) Enjoy!

Kinda sad how some guy promoting his cooler reviews gives better updates than the guys supposedly trying to sell their pc case

I received my FX 4.7L and am happy to report that it is compatible with the HDPLEX 200W bundle (116€, passive... internal).

The R9 Nano @ 600Mhz draws 125W in Furmark and the R5 3600 @ 49W PPT draws 50W with Prime. 700Mhz on the Nano is also possible during normal gaming. Nice side effect is that the cooler was designed for 1000Mhz and 175W.... so the fan doesn't exceed the high 1500RPM idle. The CPU Fan doesn't exceed 1300RPM or something like that... The card is louder.
