Hello, long time lurker but first time poster... Finally made an account today. When I first saw the S4 I immediately fell in love. It's such a pleasing case to look at, and the amount of power you can cram into it is absurd. I've been doing a bit of searching and this is what I've come up with so far. This would be my first Mini ITX build. I have experience DIY'ing and soldering and I don't expect it to be too hard of a build with all the posts and documentation on it.

PCPartPicker part list

CPU: Intel - Core i7-8700K 3.7GHz 6-Core Processor ($347.00 @ SuperBiiz)
CPU Cooler: Noctua - NH-L9i 33.8 CFM CPU Cooler ($38.79 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: MSI - Z370I GAMING PRO CARBON AC Mini ITX LGA1151 Motherboard ($140.98 @ Newegg)
Storage: Samsung - 860 Evo 1TB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($248.01 @ Amazon)
Storage: Samsung - 970 Evo 1.0TB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive ($397.99 @ Amazon)
Video Card: Zotac - GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB Mini Video Card ($752.98 @ SuperBiiz)
Monitor: Acer - XB280HK 28.0" 3840x2160 60Hz Monitor (Purchased For $0.00)
Total: $1925.75

Could I get your guys' thoughts on this build? I want a (brickless?) 1080 Ti / 8700k and this is what I've gotten down so far. I have no clue as to what ram I want (it all looked super overpriced????) I haven't seen any brickless 1080ti + 8700k, and I understand that the power is a bottleneck along with keeping temps cool

Thank you for any help or advice, I'm a noob trying to learn as much as I can.

With the current advancements of power supply... Making a brick less 1080ti and 8700k still remains a dream for many...
Not to burst your bubble, the max I have seen is 8700k and 1080 non ti on the brick less build..

That's what I found as well, I wasn't sure if it wasn't possible or if I just wasn't finding them. Thanks for telling me

you could do a brickless 1080Ti/8700K with a custom case [ PM me ] ,a 400W G-Unique ArchDeamon, and a MeanWell UHP power supply.

your power consumption would be cutting it close, but with mods it would work.

This build is as close as you'll get. Very interesting build with two internal PSUs to go brickless. Good luck finding a solution!

correct.

that's one of several posters, that i took the idea for using a MeanWell power unit from.

I'm using that same MeanWell, and it's a perfect fit in the S4M/S4M-C. I'm only running a GTX 970 so I don't go above 220W, but that 1080ti is going to be power hungry! It seems it takes some modding and electrical knowledge to get something like this working properly. Even then, cutting it close!

What kind of modding? Thanks for your help!
