Do not believe the printing on the box regarding the Ryzen 5 3400G not being compatible with B550 motherboard.
I just installed a 3400G in a Gigabyte B550I Aorus Pro AX ITX motherboard, cloned my NVMe drive from my X570 motherboard to a new NVMe drive and it works without issue. Rebooted one additional time to set the XMP profile and all done. See uploaded photos of BIOS and motherboard box at:

Not planning to update the BIOS from F10 until I want to install either a 4750G or a 5000 series CPU.

Photos and text in this posting were prepared on and uploaded from this PC.

Is this for real? I had a 3400G in my basket when building my system months ago. Someone told me to doublecheck because it's not supposed to fit on the asus B550 itx, so I went with a 3600. Goddammit, I wish I had used the 3400G. Then at least I could sell my 1080ti for a profit now while maintaining a useable pc until prices drop again.

Cheers man for sharing this!

I did some further testing of this build running Blender Classroom Render together with Unigine Valley. Even with 32GB of RAM, this is much much slower to complete the render taking 30 minutes, 38 seconds. With a 4750G using the same Noctua L9x65 cooler with an A9x25 fan on an X570 MB the render was completed in 10 minutes 34 seconds with a wattage draw of 88 watts for the 3400G and 89 watts for the 4750G.
