I have no doubt about Asus motherboard quality, but those extra heatsinks will be a nightmare for CPU coolers.

is that the position of the chipset? Looks like the fan is above heatsink connected to the VRMs...

Yeah, I'm with seppola on this one... The chipset is most likely around the M.2 area, that fan is for additional cooling of the VRMs.

Only 4 usb-a connectors is absolutely unacceptable.
What ?
When will you use all your USB port ?????

this motherboard is absolutely wonderful.
I was wondering to take the x570-i (very expensive) and the b550 have connectors of mini-dtx MB !! For the half of the price !
Take my money please !

Keyboard, mouse, xbox controller, DAC and seeing as I have a Ghost I don't have a front usb. Yes I know you can get hubs but I don't like hubs. I know I didn't make the original comment but I totally agree with @riba2233.

Same here. Keyboard, mouse, logitech controller, SD card reader, USB microphone, and, occasionally thumbdrive.

Aside from the Active Cooling for the VRM, this has all the features I was looking for. Especially happy that I'll be able to hook up all my front panel IO on the NCASE M1 v6.

I was wondering if this was going to get the updated (v2) Intel 2.5Gbps Controller. The initial version on the Z490 boards has a bug (in hardware) which can prevent 2.5Gbps operation, and Intel currently recommends dropping back to 1Gbps as a workaround. They now have a firmware "fix" which automatically drops the link speed to 1Gbps if the error occurs.

This link will download a PDF with details about the I-225V bug: https://www.intel.com/i225v1 (Page 5). This PDF also lists the routers and switches they've tested to enable 2.5Gbps operation.

my X570i Aorus cries in pain... unless all board manufacturers refresh their X570 ITX boards, B550 ITX boards are much better feature-wise than X570 boards. strange time indeed

We really are going to need to see how much of a difference the Gen4 Vs Gen3 uplink hinders performance. I'm guessing it will be in the single percentages

Wow incredible :)
I’m full wireless here ;)

but it’s interesting

I have a wireless mouse - still need 1 USB slot for the receiver.
I have a wireless headset - still need 1 USB slot for the receiver.

See the pattern here? Wireless doesn't mean USB-free

Then

I have a webcam, there isn't a wireless webcam on the market - 1 USB slot
I have a wired keyboard because wireless keyboard sucks for gaming - 1 USB slot

That's 4 slots already just for basic use, without a 5th USB slot how do I connect to any other devices?

This is weird...

I made a hackintosh and I don’t have receiver thanks to a DW1560 chip.

You can’t use one receiver for all devices ?
Or you can’t use the hub of your screen ???
