Hey all,

Wanted to see if anyone has any experience with the new Velka 5. I'm looking to move my current HTPC (ZS Cases A4S v3 with a 5600X and reference 6800) to my office to replace it with the new 5800x/6800xt build I just put together to use with my 4k tv (better performance than the 6800 so far) and am kinda of thinking that the a4 layout may be a bit too much space on the desk. I'm interested in the Velka 5 for the smaller footprint and similar parts compatibility, will have to replace the blackridge with something smaller but not a huge deal. I have a Velka 3 1.2 and absolutely hate the build quality, curious if the new 5 has had any improvements in that arena. Appreciate the input

I don't have a Velka 5 but a Velka 7 and really don't have any complaints about build quality.

Will point out that I don't think your proposed hardware will fit well in the Velka 5 though. The 5800x will be very hard to cool with a 37 mm tall CPU cooler - essentially limited to the Noctua NH-L9a. I also don't think there are any 6800XT's that will fit in Velka 5? No 2-slot versions out there that I'm aware of.

Sorry, the ZS case with the 5600X and 6800 are the ones up for potential transplant. 5800X under an L9a would be a nice expensive way to start a fire lol. thanks for the input.

Ahh my bad. That makes more sense...

I think the 5600X and RX 6800 would work pretty well in the Velka 5. The Noctua NH-L9a is pretty good enough for stock performance. And the RX 6800 doesn't really run particularly hot. Also won't have issues blocking off exhaust that you would with blower style coolers. I say go for it!
