Rumor AMD Ryzen R7 2800x teased

In the new article by TweakTown, there has been a speculation about the lineup of R7 2000 series.

Ryzen 7 2700: 10C/20T @ 4.0/4.5GHz (replaces Ryzen 7 1700) Ryzen 7 2800: 12C/24T @ 4.4/4.9GHz (replaces Ryzen 7 1700X) Ryzen 7 2800X: 12C/24T @ 4.6/5.1GHz (replaces Ryzen 7 1800X)

This is the release date of new Ryzen family btw:

I don't expect Ryzen in 2018 to be more than optimization: marginally lower power consumption, marginally higher clocks and maybe a beefy 2800X. But not the wishful thinking happening over the internet. AMD can't just whip out some extra cores in their CCX. I expect those from the real 2nd Gen, not this refresh.

Can't believe they'd fall for this. If Ryzen 2 is running 5ghz boost from factory with even 8 cores, that'd be incredibly impressive. This looks those April Fools jokes of the "GTX 1090 vs RX590 ghz edition"

One word: r/AyyMD. Something very similar to this was posted only a couple weeks ago. I can't believe these professional journalists (so-called) fell for this line of malarkey. I would be greatly surprised if AMD surpassed 4.5 GHz boost for any of their products in their second generation Ryzen line.

Expect a 10% improvement on Ryzen. Same core counts. So all R7's are still 8 cores, and up to 4.5ghz boost.

What's more interesting about that slide to me than Ryzen 2 launch date, is Ryzen 5/7 "gaming" CPU's being released in 2018.

For my point of view, AMD, while going to 12nm process could go either 6 cores per ccx or clock increase but not both together..:)

If ccx is switching to 6 cores, even threadripper will have cores count boost up to 24 cores / 48 threads.

But i'm expecting more a clock speed boost to around 4.0Ghz base clock...but let's see..:D
