Hi All,

For the last few months I have been thinking of making a really small build, but to have some graphical performance I needed to use a 2400G or 2400GE (which will be available at some retail stores in the Netherlands at the 4th of March).

Now looking at the common brands non had a Thin ITX motherboard for AMD cpus, and was called a some sort of myth if they would ever come. But with some searching I found them, and so far I found 2!

- Lenovo's 00XK236 FLX5591478 AM4IH Motherboard ($160 on AliExpress)

What I gathered on information for the Onda board, it actually uses a 115x mounting socket for the CPU cooler, which allows for some neat small coolers, such as:

That's great! Imagine that lenovo board with a 2400G in the Luna DNHK (I think that's the thin-itx one).

I would add links to the main thread, and when a new one pops up, add it also!

As @cleveland said, I'll be watching this too!

Edit: While that lenovo board is cool, it is NOT thin-itx. look at the mounting pattern.

Where did you find this cooler? What TDP can it cool?

Indeed. It also has front I/O. I'm guessing it's the motherboard for an AMD-based ThinkStation Tiny/USFF.

Googling the FRU number on the board might yield results in figuring out what it's from, as they're usually listed in the service manuals of the relevant PC.

Think you quoted the wrong person there. Anyhow, thick aluminium fins, no heat pipes, half the fin area not affected by the fan at all, and that's supposed to handle 45W? I guess at 7000rpm, sure, but then it'll be more effective at giving you tinnitus than cooling. Then again, my lapop's 15W CPU (i7-8650u) is surprisingly well cooled by a fin stack that is ... I didn't measure, but it's around 50x6x6mm. It's so small you barely see it on top of the heatpipe - and the fan is similarly small, yet it maintains decent turbo clocks. That has a heatpipe, though, and I really wouldn't trust something without that to handle 45W without some heft to it.

For 2200G vs 2400GE this vid might give a broad performance overview, yet the 2400GE is still 5 FPS Better, but 5 FPS Lower then the 2400G.

I had the fan in the original post with the plain design. One thing to keep in mind with installing the cooler is that it may not fit in certain orientations if there are chokes on the board large enough to get in the way with the bottom of the cooler, on the longer end with the direction of the exhaust.

This one definitely is very short and not so loud when I used it with a 4400T processor. It does ramp up a lot if you don't adjust the fan settings yourself so I had to use the Gigabyte Smart Fan program to adjust the fan curve.

I was able to set the max fan speed at 50% to 60% and temperatures never went over 60 degrees C under load. I would think that the 2400GE would fare about the same but don't have real experience with these APUs.
