News A small bit of news regarding Asrock's Deskmini lineup.

So, I sent an email to Asrock wondering about Coffee Lake compatibility with any 'special' BIOS updates that might come (basically: no), as well as an update to the STX series of motherboards, and this is what I got:

'Thank you for the email, ASRock Deskmini 310 will be available in the June 2018 time frame.'

Well that's good, I guess. Can't wait to fit Coffee Lake in my mini build then :p

I was just looking just in case if it was coming or not
But i'm more surprised by the non existent project to use stx to make a nice sffpc (the only real one being the ATX psu form factor one)

Deskmini 310 is amazing!
There are useful improvements compared to Deskmini 110:
1. Wifi support Intel® CNVi module now (9560 is supported!)
2. M.2 support both NVME and SATA SSD
3. Two PWM fan connectors (110 only have one, and the other is 5pin cannot be used directly)
4. SD Card Socket (Supports SDXC Card (3.3V))

But I think there is still things can be done:
1. Remove SATA port. (Cooler can have extra 1cm height)
2. Another M.2.
3. Chassis like Deskmini GTX

Deskmini 310 will be available at middle of May.

Production of the H310 chipset has been halted due to limited 14 nm capacity at Intel's plants. This is probably bad news for anyone (like me) waiting for Asrock Deskmini 310, right?

Is it me or is intel just doing shit right now and is unable to progress ?
Like everyone else can use the 7nm node but intel is still stuck at 10, enven global foundries will have 7nm by the end of the year ... (they are often lacking behind the others)

Whatever ... they can give us the ryzen model =p

They are probably behind due to that their 10nm process is delayed which prolongs the life-time of their products and upsets schedules in their factories. If they've removed some capacity for 14nm in anticipation of 10 that would explain it.
Intel, Global foundries and TSMC measure sizes differently, but I'm quite certain that Intel's 10nm and Global Foundries 7nm are supposed to be equivalent in actual size.

I heard it was 200 euro. Is that more expensive than the 110 because that would be around 230 usd and the 110 was usually around 150..,

Yeah, I paid about 198 euros. Going to put an i7-8700T in it, which should serve me for a while, as I'm upgrading from the 110 with an i5-6600T

Best of luck! I've been waiting for these for a while so I'm excited to hear about your first impressions.
