Hello! I'm looking to build a portable media server for the likes of video playback and live VJ'ing scenarios. The goal is to fit in either a 2U rack or Pelican 1535 case (2U is maybe the best bet?).
My only real requirements are a powerful GPU, which will take up PCIe and a spare slot for fan, and ideally a Blackmagic Decklink Duo2, which requires another PCIe connection.
I read that it is possible to connect the GPU over M.2 with acceptable performance loss, but I'm having a hard time figuring out the best motherboard, GPU and 2U case for the job.
Any thoughts or advice from anyone who has gone down this path with portable GPU-intensive rigs would be hugely appreciated.
