I finished putting all the pieces together for the s4 Mini & my Pc won’t boot up meaning that the motherboard is on but the cpu fan & gpu wont run. I’m new building & hopefully nothing bad happened.

Are you sure your ram and gpu are fully inserted? Try taking them out and plugging them in again.

the first picture has a cable not fully connected. have you looked over all conectors? sometimes it could be not fully inserted.
good luck on your build

Yeah I inserted both and still nothing.
Try the following steps:
  1. Unplug storage and test
  2. Unplug GPU and test system off of integrated video
  3. Reseat connectors on HDPlex (I assume)
  4. Unplug HDPlex and test using standard ATX PSU
  5. Remove motherboard from case and test
  6. Unplug 1 stick of RAM and try it with 1 stick
I think what may be happening is some sort of wiring issue with the power supply (as in some wires required for the motherboard to function properly are plugged in properly but other rails [like 12V to CPU] are not properly wired and the system is confused as to why 5V instead of 12V is being sent to the CPU and the PCIe power for the GPU)

If all else fails, contact ASUS for an RMA on the motherboard (if the above doesn't work)

Asus strix boards have post leds - at least my b350-i does so your b450-i should too - get the manual and pay attention which led light up during post.

Okay the first picture (link)is what I connected to the Gpu. What concerns me is that it has a missing pin from the 8 pin. Idk if that’s normal or not. I realized that there’s 2 wires in 1 pin if you can see closely in the picture.
https://ibb.co/dfXwRL (picture of missing pin)
https://ibb.co/ifqGRL (what I connected to cpu)
https://ibb.co/kiMyO0 (can see the 2 wires in 1 pin)

The second picture is what I used for the cpu. I guess that will belong to the gpu?

Wires look ok to me.... Should have the missing pin

The connector with missing pin goes into the pcie output on the hdplex. The other end of that cable goes into the GPU.

The wire that you've got plugged into the CPU is the right one. Might not make a difference but one end of that cable splits into 2 4pins. That end plugs into the motherboard, near the CPU socket.

For future reference:

1. Test everything connected outside the case, then power it up.
2. Read the manual.
3. Refrain managing cables before you know everything's in order.
4. Embed your images (pls?)

Nope. Still nope.

Look again.

You're wiring the p_led to hdled. And pwrbtn to reset. Yes it turns on but it's wrong.

So pwrbutton jumper turns on the pc when it's jumped (connected). P_led turns on the light in your power button when the pc is on.

After that the boot device. Of course. You go ahead and put windows or linux in now.

Got it thanks! Where can I get it to boot? Because I won’t be able to use any optimal drive
