    modding an Ncase M1

That would look nice, but given that I didn't get much benefit even with the holes completely open I'm not sure I'd want to constrict them that much. Even with ventilation holes cut into it an acrylic piece would reduce space for airflow by ~50%. Plus, it would be a lot more expensive than just...

    modding an Ncase M1

After a month away for winter break and then a month working pretty much all day every day on my thesis, I finally had some downtime at home and got around to trying something out here. Pardon me for resurrecting the thread but I figured other Ncase owners might be interested in the potential...

    modding an Ncase M1

So, while those guys I mentioned have pretty cheap hourly rates, they have some serious job minimums, and I'm not up for paying basically the cost of the case to get those extra vents cut. I have a friend who's just invested in a laser cutter for his business and might be able to buy some time...

    modding an Ncase M1

Interesting idea. I've never used it before, but I've had issues with the regular sticky velcro scrips where the velcro is actually stronger than the glue and I'm always pulling the velcro off the metal...have you had good experiences using this stuff for similar applications, ie where you'll...

    modding an Ncase M1

So, my custom case project didn't end up happening, and now I have an Ncase. I'm pretty happy with it, but I have an open air cooler GPU (I just bought it a few months ago, before I decided on the move to SFF, so I'm not up for trying to sell it so I can buy a rear exhaust card now) and I'm...

    Project Polaris: <10L gaming case

Shapeways wants $130 to print all four pillars in PLA, or $170 for their "strong & flexible" material which I believe is done by SLS. That isn't too bad, but I should be able to do even better. My university library has a couple of 3D printers available to students for the cost of materials...

    Project Polaris: <10L gaming case

Ooh, thanks, that's a good point - another thing to add to the "buy and measure before finalizing design" list. I found one on Amazon that looks like the length behind the plug is about the same length as the plug itself, which is around 18mm, and one of the reviews says it fits comfortably in...

    Project Polaris: <10L gaming case

They actually emailed me back when I didn't respond within about 22 hours basically rushing me to get back to them, as if I was going to take a price like that seriously. My response was the most tactful version of "how out of touch with reality are you" I could think of.... Anyway, work is...

    Project Polaris: <10L gaming case

Update: I've increased the height of the case by 15mm to incorporate a slim 120mm fan towards the back. I'm not sure this is actually necessary, but beyond making sure the central chamber doesn't turn into a hot box, it also gives me a little more clearance above the PCI slot for extra-deep...
