    News ASRock DeskMini B660: A LGA1700 barebone with PCIe 5.0 SSD, USB 3.2 Gen2×2 and DDR4

Just to put an end to this. Indeed the BIOS wasn't up to date to the latest release. The motherboard started just fine with the celeron, was able to flash the BIOS and it is now happily accepting raptor lake CPUs!

It should. But it isn't in the case of this board, or am I missing something out? Cannot see it mentioned in the manual and cannot see a button on the board either?

Yeah I've ordered it a couple hours ago, hopefully will be with me tomorrow. A bit of a shame having to buy two CPUs though 😫

    News ASRock DeskMini B660: A LGA1700 barebone with PCIe 5.0 SSD, USB 3.2 Gen2×2 and DDR4

Hello again guys Small mistake I actually purchased a raptor lake CPU, i5 13500 ( and not the 12500) previously stated. I'm aware it's supported, however only from BIOS 12.02. Do you think there's a chance that the PC I have been shipped didnt come preloaded with the latest BIOS? if that...

    News ASRock DeskMini B660: A LGA1700 barebone with PCIe 5.0 SSD, USB 3.2 Gen2×2 and DDR4

You mean CPU socket? I seem to remember you had the same issue, is this motherboard quite delicate in that sense then? Do you reckon that the RAM I've chosen should be compatible albeit not listed in the official page of compatible RAM? But yeah, I've reset BIOS ( by removing battery as I...

    News ASRock DeskMini B660: A LGA1700 barebone with PCIe 5.0 SSD, USB 3.2 Gen2×2 and DDR4

@msystems thanks for the input. In the end I got a 12500 as couldn't find a 12500t. Now, small issue. I just received the DeskMini b660. Assembled everything and it doesn't boot!! It switches on, LED light on, fan spinning, however no video signal (neither HDMI nor display port) and also the...

    News ASRock DeskMini B660: A LGA1700 barebone with PCIe 5.0 SSD, USB 3.2 Gen2×2 and DDR4

Hello all, I'm considering to get a deskmini b660. I understand that there's a max TDP of 65W ( which if I understand correctly from some of the posts here it can be slightly overridden) In my current miniITX setup I've always used T CPUs. I appreciate they have a slower clock speed, but I'm...

Power Supply A Guide to 12V PSU

Quite some mixed feedback about the noise, I suppose there could be variances between different MW products and also variances between different units of the same product; and also variances amongst users of course! @smitty2k1 it is so tiny indeed, it is almost a pleasure to watch! Thanks to...

Power Supply A Guide to 12V PSU

Hi, I received today the MeanWell EPP-120S-12 and all the components. All nice and well, besides that I ordered 16AWG wires instead of 18AWG. So I temporarily hooked everything up - as it is a temporary assembly I didn't really heatshrink much and didn't prepare the earth cable. I didn't...

Power Supply A Guide to 12V PSU

Fantastic! Thank you @Valantar , will read into it a bit more, but I think my made is made up. Out of curiosity, where do you source from the info that the efficiency is >88% even at 20W? In the tech sheet released by Meanwell I just find typical efficiency. I see it also has an...

Power Supply A Guide to 12V PSU

Thamks @smitty2k1 and @Valantar Indeed to clarify. I need the DC side of it to be 12V I am looking for internal, as small as it can be but it is not an utmost requirement. I would prefer something enclosed for safety, but then I wouldn't mind building my own enclosure in aluminium. The...

Power Supply A Guide to 12V PSU

I hope someone here can guide me. I have a low power ITX system powered by a picoPSU-150-XT. My system really uses 80W maximum at full load, but I like knowing that the motherboard is supplied by the extra 4 pins of the EATX connector. I was looking at getting a Meanwell as a AC/DC as right...

Enclosure owning a SFF Ncase M1, I find it too big. A true miniITX, snug, sleek replacement?

@ignsvn , very, very nice suggestion. If I have to be picky, I don't quite like the proportions of the MI-6, i.e. I find the case too high for the footprint it has. And the screws are way too visible (quite like the clip system on the Ncase). Very small problems, I know. In the meantime, I...

Compact membrane keyboard with numpad, possibly stylish

Thanks for the heads-up, I didn't even know suck keyboards existed - definitely not for me though. Jovogdiar and August, thanks for pointing out respectively the Logitech K360 and K780. August, don't you find difficult / awkward to type on the round keys of the K380? Stevo_, the Dell KM717 has...
