No. Even in sandwich style cases where you have virtually no space behind the gpu (same as Sentry) but some fans above or below the card, the gpu will struggles to cool itself.

There is definitely at least 1 cm (1.5 cm but dont quote me on this) available space after a 2 slot card. My current card is Founder's Edition 1080 Ti. So 2.2 slots = 4 mm thicker should be fine.
