    DAN C4-SFX

Every once and a while, I see a picture of the old C4 designs and I remember why I used to follow these threads so closely. Then I remember that the old case is never going to exist, and remember why I stopped.

Well Dan, if there was one take away from the last thread, it's that you can't please everyone. Best of luck with the new design, can't wait to see what folks build in it. Hope the family is doing well.

Just hoping to make it clear, as someone who has voiced strong opinions in this thread, I am hopeful for the future of the project.

Think about this from the perspective of those who have been excited to build an original "sandwich" style case: The smaller 141mm in width design, the one most likely to appeal to us, no longer supports 25mm fans for the AIO. We are getting a design compromise to permit the classic layout that...

Those numbers are VERY misleading. First, all those are not the case volumes, just a very simple calculation of the minimum hardware that will need to be encapsulated. I.E. the width is the height of a graphics card, the height is the the length of an ITX mother board etc. Second, the classic...

First of all, none of the changes are final and my recollection is as faulty as anyone else's. Currently Dan has expressed interest in increasing case width to 149mm (or 140mm with a right angle power adapter) in order to create a design that enables both vertical and horizontal GPU mounting...

Could you help me understand why the sandwich layout is necessarily taller than the classic layout? Is the height given for the classic layout assuming the radiator would be placed vertically, across from the motherboard like the NCase M1? Wasn't part of the idea that the flex would support both...

My consternation is not simply the increase in volume or the change in aesthetic. It's that it's for a reason that does not excite me. There is a cost benefit analysis in SFF computers, and with that comes a mantra: Is this wasted space? A horizontal GPU in a explicitly water-cooled case seems...

To be fair, respondents to a forum poll. Just a video from LTT, JTC, GN, or Optimum would reach more people than this forum ever would. It is a fair question as to how to appeal to demographics in the larger tech sphere.

Half the target audience eliminated? Hmm, don't buy it. First, of all the folks who were polled, how many actually own a card that isn't two-slot? Second, the idea that by allowing 2.75 slot cards you double the card's audience is simply not true. By that same comparison he's cutting out over...

So, uh... who all still wants the case from the first page? Perhaps the one on page 94? Seriously enough, if 50% of people are happy using two-slot GPUs, why increase the size? I'm starting to get the feeling from @dondan that he really isn't into that design, and wants to try something else. A...

It seems to me that Dan has been fairly clear. Dan is working on the single 240mm design. He had some qualms with the previous designs, in particular the I/O placement, the side panel attachment, the feet, and the bottom cut out. Based on his posts over the last few weeks it seems like he has...

Loque and others released similar designs before Dan, but his is the most space optimized. Similarly, I fear that people are too quick to jump on the A4 style sandwich layout when it is probable -- or at least entirely possible -- that the original single chamber design will maintain superior...

Yes, you're confusing it with the vertical design. The dual 240mm design was effectively an up-scaled C4-sfx. One radiator on the top, one on the bottom, two 120mm fans on the front with a Lian-Li style side intake for them.
