These temps were recorded using HWInfo64 7.02 and running Phoenix Miner 5.5c on the 6900xt, two Noctua fans were installed as intake on the bottom panel. I'm aware mining ETH is an extreme-yet-common-and-divisive usage scenario for ITX builds but to each their own, I game on my builds (one for...
Sadly, I think I am stopping this build as I don't see it fitting into my use case: using a full custom loop to water-cool an RTX 3090 and 5800x. The temps I was seeing while benchmarking and mining ETH have deterred me from venturing further.
I'm stopping for two reasons: a) I hope to recoup...
UPDATE: This build will be using the ASRock A520M/ITX AC, a 5600x and a Sapphire Radeon 6900xt.
Apologies for the delay with updates, I still haven't managed to retrieve my hex kit from the office yet. More to come tomorrow hopefully - and for those hoping for a swap out second build using the...
I feel my own personal aesthetic has progressed slightly from when I initially ordered the Mjolnir. It is a beautifully designed and constructed case though and a lot of thought has gone into it. While I might be leaning more towards something more understated, I do appreciate its beauty and...
The riser cable is sadly still PCIe 3.0. Alex tells me they're still finalising locking down high quality, reliable 4.0 cables (who isn't!). I have a spare LinkUP PCIe 4.0 cable lying around from my previous NR200 build but it's maybe 4-5cm shorter than the one Thor-Zone provides.
The chassis and panels are all very light and seemingly sturdy. The thin bars on the inner frame do flex quite a bit but seem strong enough. Make no mistake, these are some high quality panels. The true colour is a touch darker and less yellow than what is shown in the photos.
I wish I could...
And so the build continues. I finally dismantled my NR200 build (my first ITX and first ever water cooled attempt) and have the parts ready to go into this Mjolnir.
From bottom left working clockwise, we have:
Galax 3090 SG / EKWB Quantum Vector RE (reference) GPU block
IceMan with Laing DDC...
GPU Memory Junction Temps are amazing using the 3080 FE Silver Special block from EKWB, particularly when mining ETH (Phoenix Miner 5.5c). Previous air-cooled temps using a Yuel Beast Monument would hit 108-110C easily with ambient room temps of 23C.
With the SS block, I'm seeing temps of...
And before anyone notices I am a total noob at water cooling / ITX builds, yes, I encountered a lot of issues with this build. Leaks, buzzing pumps - and waiting days for a replacement while it buzzed away in our spare room - rolls of kitchen paper entwined all over the build for hours on end -...
The copper of the AXP-100 is otherworldly and perhaps one of the best machined heatsinks I've come across. I could have wiped all the fingerprints off but by the time I was encouraged to post this, it was too late.
I set a 'goofy' fan orientation to match that of the fans pushing and...
My aesthetic is pretty minimal. I like subtlety, silence and performance with a throwback to almost any decade from the early 1900s to the late 1970s. Not always the easiest combination when it comes to building PCs ;)
I am still very much a water / liquid cooling noob. This is only my second...
UPDATE: The scuff visible in the last image was removed as per Alex @ Thor-Zone's recommendation to using rubbing alcohol to remove it. It appears to be residue from a glue that was used in the finishing process.
After waiting what seemed an interminable amount of time for the Mjolnir to...
I taped my slim 280mm EK Coolstream to the bottom panel of my NR200 with double sided black gaff tape. Works fine. I’ll be posting pics from that build soon...
