So far I've just let the Asus auto-tuner do it's thing which OC'd the 9600k to 4.7ghz and hit a max CPU temp of 88
When it's not running a benchmark, it's inaudible. The CPU fan sits around 1100 RPM on the L9i and the bottom fans idles around 400 RPM. I can't hear either of them with my head...
You're right, that fan clocks in at 98g (https://www.raijintek.com/en/products_detail.php?ProductID=110) plus probably another 2g for the clip mounts
So the Pallas added 30g despite the shrink. Nice. Can't wait to see how it performs. I've been eagerly waiting for a shipping confirmation on...
It looks like that new Pallas may be a bit smaller - uses a 120mm fan vs 140mm on the original.
Old Pallas 140: 153×150×68 mm
NEW Pallas 120: 130x147x68 mm
Shaving off that 23 mm in width seems like it would make it fit no problem, but you do end up with a bit smaller of a cooler
I'd love to be proven wrong, but if the dimensions are the same as the old Pallas I can't see how it would fit. The fins and the ends of the heat pipes overhang the side of an ITX board about an inch and will run into either the back of the case or the PSU. Though if it can be made to fit I'd...
No dice - it extends past the IO when rotated the other direction. I'll have to pick a different option
Any chance you have a prototype 560 you'd want to get rid of that fits 75mm coolers? The other cooler I have on hand already is a NH-L12S =]
Either way - I'm still pumped for the 550 and...
@KSliger Thanks for all of the updates! I've got a preorder in for the 550 and have started to stockpile parts. I'm hoping to use the Pallas cooler mounted on the Strix Z390-I but I'm worried about one part of the fit - and hoping you can confirm a measurement for me.
The Pallas only fits in...
