Sorry to necro an old thread, but there just aren't that many build threads out there for using the 500w GaN in a S4M build. I was curious to see how others have fared but this is one of the only posts I've been able to find!
I just did a similar build, but the way the 500W GaN is seated is not...
You could email Larry (larry@hdplex.com) and see if they can help you get replacements; I had some out-of-the-box issues with an AC-DC unit though it had been over a year since I purchased and Larry just said to send it in and they'll send a new one back. Worth a shot!
Ah, I see the product page specs now. If its depth will stay the same, then I assume it won't impact any max height cards since the 160W one fits just fine. I've been out of the loop for some time; have they mentioned when this will come out?
Anyone have any experience with modifying their GPUs with an Accelero Mono Plus and how that fits in with a S4M? I currently have a GTX 1070 AERO ITX from MSI but I was curious of the benefits and if it was even possible to fit an after-market cooler on a GPU.
Is there a temps comparison somewhere of the L9i vs. LP53 vs. LP53 with the fan replaced with A9x14, etc. for the S4M? I'd love to know what the most optimal setup for keeping CPU temps to a minimum is.
Is there a guide for setting up the C8 connector? Is it just to snip the C14 end of the cable that comes with the HDPLEX AC-DC and connect the ends to the C8? I'm a total newbie here but I'd love to try it out.
