Cooling Improving Noise in Cerberus w/3080 FE

This is one of the reasons I went with the Cerberus in the first place. But also going to a GPU pulling ~50% more power (at stock) did make me question what the problem was. I’m glad it just needed a little tweaking of cables. (And I just noticed I got the numbers backwards in the post. I...

Cooling Improving Noise in Cerberus w/3080 FE

Yeah, that was my next step, but had to figure out where I put the PSU box that had the original cables for the SF750. After running the longer original cables, and using some velcro ties to neaten up the cables and keep them out of the way, I did another set of tests. Both with the C14S as...

Cooling Improving Noise in Cerberus w/3080 FE

Thanks for the thread link. Reading through that answered the questions I had about your advice, especially the bit as to why the 92mm AIO. So I did try swapping around the orientation of the C14S fan (EDIT: photo was taken before I swapped the fan). So far, it does seem to slow down how...

Cooling Improving Noise in Cerberus w/3080 FE

I've had this build for a bit as a quiet gaming rig with air cooling: - 5600X with Noctua C14S - Pulling through side vents - EVGA 2080 Gaming Ultra (3-slot version) - Two NF-A12x25s as intake on the bottom - One NF-S12A on the top as exhaust (not much else fits due to the C14S positioning) -...

    NCASE M1 V6 info

Like another poster on this page, I put the second 92mm fan on the case itself to try to get better exhaust performance. Right now I’ve got it tuned as well as I think I can get with my setup: high 60s on a 3600, and maxing out at 75C on the 2080 GPU. And the fan noise isn’t too bad at full GPU...

    Silver or Black NCASE M1?

They both look good. I went black because I wanted some contrast with my Mac.

List of Mini-ITX/DTX motherboards with a Key A header (for front panel USB C)

I wouldn’t count on it. Those sort of changes require PCB relayout usually, and that’s time consuming to do through a new round of engineering samples/etc. Once they are showing it in public, they’re usually trying to nail down firmware and final parts suppliers. I’m planning to go with the...

    NCASE M1 V6 info

Shouldn’t if you are going to mount the PSU the same way as in the V5. My custom cables are currently being used in a Node 304 without a problem, using a similar layout as what I will use in the M1. These cables do need enough slack to be able to plug/unplug them, so any minor changes shouldn’t...

List of Mini-ITX/DTX motherboards with a Key A header (for front panel USB C)

The Type-E is only for the USB-C port. The other two ports would connect to the existing 19-pin header like usual. Each header has 2 channels. Each type A port needs one channel. Type C ports can use one or two channels, but USB 3.2 is needed for both channels on Type C to work at the same time.

List of Mini-ITX/DTX motherboards with a Key A header (for front panel USB C)

That’s the purpose of the hub I suggested. You could do something really goofy and use one of these to get a second 3.0 header by routing two ports from the rear I/O panel back into the case via the grommets...

List of Mini-ITX/DTX motherboards with a Key A header (for front panel USB C)

Yeah, that is the sort of adapter needed. You do hit on a way to get all three ports working this way though: internal USB hub. The downside there is you lose throughput by sharing two SS channels across 3 physical ports. And the only USB3 hub I see that can do this is a big one, so space could...

List of Mini-ITX/DTX motherboards with a Key A header (for front panel USB C)

I was quoted 62 Euro (52 w/o VAT) from the same site, and if follow your link, it’s quoted in GBP. Not sure what’s up with that. Site bug? i think if we do see boards with two headers, one will be type-E... ?‍♀️ I only see the older USB 3.0 header, not the newer type-E/3.1 Gen 2 header. Is it...

List of Mini-ITX/DTX motherboards with a Key A header (for front panel USB C)

That’s in GBP. But once shipping gets added it is about 90$ USD to get it in the US. Oof.

List of Mini-ITX/DTX motherboards with a Key A header (for front panel USB C)

The new connector uses pins not available on the existing 19-pin USB 3.0 header. This includes pins needed for USB PD, as well as Alternate Modes. The second one is really only useful for integrated GPUs to send out DisplayPort over USB-C. So it is possible to build one, but it wouldn’t have PD...

    ATX PSU and Cooling options

First off, the V6 no longer comes with the ATX bracket, so be aware of that. The other problem is if you want to go with a 240mm AIO, it needs the space that an ATX power supply would use. But otherwise the AIO plan seems fine. I‘d double check on the 140mm fan plan, since V5 and earlier...
