Honestly, my VRM temps with my overclock are a non issue. I think it's an excellent board (that my other half is using for web browsing and emails lol).
I bought these 3200 sticks from Newegg the other day, Team, who like to use Samsung B-die :)
They are Sammy B, timings are 14-14-14-31

Used in my Silverstone SG13 Ryzen 1600 build which I've overclocked to 3.95 Ghz.
I've just built my SG13 and used a Corsair H75 with 2 fans in a push/pull config and my Ryzen 1600 build.
No problems fitting and I've overclocked my 1600 to 3.95 Ghz and temps are nice and cool, nice and quiet.
Hey thanks.
I used an ATX psu so not much room for fans, although due to low voltage increases it runs quite cool.
I mounted the psu fan intake "upside down" to draw hot air away from the motherboard and VRM chips and to vent out the psu. I initially mounted the psu with the fan intaking from...
Yep I was amazed also!
BUT......It was all windows! Grrrr
I can happily report that the system is now completely stable at 3.9Ghz and 3200Mhz on the ram with factory timings of 14-14-14-31
I have not tried any higher clock speeds.
I only had to do a small voltage increase to 1.3V and have...
Another 2 Windows installs later and I think it's working ok now.
I actually think Nand drives remember info even when you delete the partition in the Windows setup and reinstall over the top.
Very problematic install :(
Hmm bad news.
It seems Windows 10 is particularly fragile. Everything was running beautifully until I installed AMD Overdrive. It asked me to reboot the PC to complete the installation at which I said yes.
Alas I never could boot into windows 10 ever again (loading splash screen then instantly...
Ok a fresh download of Windows10 Pro from Microsoft and a clean install may have solved the problem.
Perfectly smooth install so far. I'm updating and installing graphics drivers at the moment.
No Reboots or freezing yet.
F1
I haven't been able to upgrade to any other due crashes
EDIT: I'm wondering if it's due an older image of Windows 10 Pro which I made prior to Ryzen. I'm going to reinstall and see if that makes a difference.
Hi guys,
I'm having the worst nightmare new build I've ever had. I can barely run windows 10 without constant, non stop freezing. It is seriously doing my head in!
It does not matter what I do in the BIOS.
Whether all settings are completely defaulted to factory settings or voltages tweaked...
