download your current vbios, try a couple different hex editors. gotta be one that will get you access to fan settings at minimum. "polaris bios editor" was a past good one maybe check if the creators have anything new. neat project btw! very interested to see where you go with it.
I have been having the same issue. I swapped the battery and it did not fix it. Mine is inconsistent and works sometimes other times doesn't. If it stays plugged in with power to psu on it never drops. If i unplug it from the wall 90% of the time it drops. I have messed around with a LOT of...
Thanks for the support! Very interested to see what you come up with on the thin itx and matx builds. Haswell is a chip family I have not dived into although I know there are a couple low tdp "L" versions that really interest me in building around, some day hopefully I'll stumble upon a good...
Just a quick update talking about the GIF above. I switched over to wx4100 on the 1.76L and am running it with 120w amazon external brick, great little machine capable of W7, W10, Linux and OSX.
4 builds in the works
build1 (pictured in GIF as well for size comparison)
2.45L displacement...
sort of dependant on what cpu and motherboard you want. my personal smallest build with itx mobo and LP workstation gpu is 1.76L with external power brick. power brick is .4 to .5L

agreed. It would make for quite a nice quad boot mobile (w7,w10,osx,linux) i'm in full ebay mode with alerts setup for each wx4100 part number variation :D only a matter of time now, looks like some go for $120ish range.
Thanks! Yeah I'm very much more of a "just make it work" early in projects/proof-of-concept, then refine. If you are looking for a nice small build for that i5-7500t check out the acer veriton n 4640g motherboard. Parts or barebones systems pop up for cheap on eBay semi frequently.
First off. Thanks to everyone in the community for all the great info shared here. I would not have been able to do any part of this build without the SFF community support and willingness to share.
This build utilizes modified Skyslots invented by Josh of NFC that he has kindly shared in his...
I try not to fill forums with space filling "wow" posts...but I must say WOW! Your eye for optimization/efficiency and the creative problem solving you are doing is amazing. I'm imagining some resin 3d printed custom atx plugs for your low profile vlp to be easier to repeat and sell. Everytime I...
Just wanted to rant a little...I never in a million years thought the most difficult part of this project would be trying to install windows 7 onto a Samsung NVME drive. It looks like they modified their driver exe so you can't extract the driver anymore from the exe. I have another evening of...
I found this old Lian Li case and it just happen to be the perfect size for an itx board, zotac mini 1060 and hdplus 500...
j.k. this is my one day hack and slash of my old Lian Li. I still need to finish lids and air holes for gpu fan. I thought it came out looking more "decentish" than I...
If anyone happens to go through a store with 32" or less 4k displays (tv or monitor) I'd be interested if anyone finds any using a 12v dc input. so far 24" dell monitors are the only 12v displays I've found. My perfect scenario would be find a 28" 4k 12v which i thought Samsung made, but...
