    Completed SMPL - 3.9L Case "Ikea-Style"

Isn't that always the way... you put all your spare time and effort into something only to find out you end up not using it 😄.

Ouch... double post sorry. Just ignore this one or maybe the mods can remove it.

    Completed SMPL - 3.9L Case "Ikea-Style"

Sorry for not having fed back sooner given I commented previously... lots of work and family commitments. My earlier comments stand, I love this case design and I hope you're as happy with it as I am in love with it. I can't comment on thermals or performance which I know is paramount to some...

    Completed SMPL - 3.9L Case "Ikea-Style"

All the more kudos for what you've achieved on a limited budget with limited tools, it's one thing to make a decent case with unlimited funds but it's another thing entirely to do so on a budget. Personally the fact that you say acrylic is not as strong doesn't phase me, it really is the design...

    Completed SMPL - 3.9L Case "Ikea-Style"

Difficult to know where to start... how about starting with possibly my favourite case design ever period 😍. The first revision didn't feel like an Ikea aesthetic to me but this revision is just superb. I think it's a shame to wrap it with vinyl personally. Given your design direction is Ikea...

    Other What's on Taobao

I've seen the Velka cases thanks and you're right they're a good match. Given the help and feedback I've received I think I need to revise my requirements to include an internal PSU in which case I have plenty to choose from. That's why I love this forum :)

    Other What's on Taobao

A very good point I only just realised this week thanks to someone pointing it out to me. Probably explains why I'm not finding many examples matching my requirements other than in modded cases. I've never needed anything above a budget GPU for work or home so didn't consider wattage to be...

    Other What's on Taobao

Ah the SFF Master List, that is an incredible resource I went through this weekend, Google Sheets is a great way to view cases because of Filterview. There appear to be several cases on Taobao with the same form factor as the M24, sandwich design with a Flex PSU inside the case. Honestly it's...

    Other What's on Taobao

Yes, a great choice, probably about the best I've found and I believe Lone Industries is active on these forums and very helpful. The L5 is usually sold out although they may be produced from time to time. I think it's steel which isn't that much of a negative for me and I'm in the UK so the...

    Other What's on Taobao

Thanks, yes I found that one, I didn't realise it was aluminium and isn't that form factor generally referred to as console format. It's certainly a possibility but on balance I'd probably just go for a Sentry clone as I think the original Sentry isn't available now anyway.

    Other What's on Taobao

Anyone know of any cases presumably under 4 liters with an external PSU---preferably aluminium but doesn't have to be---that support a low profile or short length discrete graphics card? It doesn't have to be on TaoBao but I've been looking for months and I don't believe one exists in the West...

    Completed SMPL - 3.9L Case "Ikea-Style"

I agree with you about "pancake" cases or console style cases. Horizontally the footprint is too great so users tend to place them vertically which then necessitates feet to prevent them from falling over and you start questioning the logic. The more I look at SFF case design the more I think...

    Completed SMPL - 3.9L Case "Ikea-Style"

I've been lurking for some weeks watching this project and have some feedback if you're interested, I have zero experience building a case. The acrylic is just a prototyping material for me, it's the form factor that really intrigues me. If it were me I would lay it horizontally in HTPC...

Everything I couldn't understand explained clearly... feels like it should be a sticky somewhere.

Completed Lone Industries L5 - 4.6L Mini ITX

There's a thread on the G-Unique adapters, you should be able to find it easily and there's a YouTube video by Tek Everything who I think is active on this forum. I believe they're the most expensive option but custom made and highly regarded so it depends on your budget. @Lone mentioned he has...
