These PSUs look awesome! I like the idea other people are mentioning about using a dual board setup, to allow higher power output. Do you think it would be possible to make one that can handle 500 or 600W and act as a UPS? I made an image to better illustrate what I mean (It's just a mockup, I...
Thanks for your input! Like I said, it's just a quick mockup as I know only basic circuitry design. I gave it the same amount of CPU clearance that was on the ATX board I modified, and I did think it seemed small. But I do think it may be possible in the near future if manufacturers notice us...
Here's a quick mockup of a M-DTX board I did(Just cut up an existing ATX one) With the new Ryzen CPUs, we have 28 lanes to work with, which is enough for an x16 dual GPU card (Upcoming Vega GPUs will use HBM which means they can be on much shorter PCBs, possibly allowing for a dual chip ITX...
Is that USD? That sounds alot better than I expected!
I imagine something like this could be done. It would probably be too big and expensive as a PCB, a short cable version is better with a small inline PCB but then the question appears of where the junction of the two connectors goes...
I really love this idea! I thought I was all alone in thinking of it. I think M-STX should have one of those slots, and there should be an STX GPU specification.
Do you know if there are any of these boards with a Z97 chipset?
