Motherboard Extreme Difficulties with x570 Motherboards and Ryzen 3

With Ryzen it is important to make sure that the BIOS matches up with the CPU you are installing. I haven't run into anything like this let, but maybe there is a problem with the latest BIOS. Alternatively I would check other things. I have had no video issues with a few systems that the...

    First time SFF Build

The SSD finally came in so I'll build the computer this weekend and put a fun little build journal/guide together of it.

Built from scratch case: sub 9L

Cool. I wouldn't expect Idle temps to be too bad, though I am curious to see how hot it gets under normal work loads and when stressed. When you get the time definitely do a test.

Memory Are there any RAM modules I should look to avoid (for size considerations)?

Yeah, I don't see any reason why you should have a problem.

Do you know what case you will be putting this in? Also does the CPU cooler overlap the RAM slots at all? I think those are the most common size restrictors. The Corsair Vengeance LPX should fit in most mini itx cases. They are a low profile so other than stripping the heat spreaders I don't...

Opinions on this build and gear compatibility with NCase M1

I looked around and it looks like the AMD RX 5700 XT or the nVIDA RTX 2070 Super might be in your price point and be good cards. Gamers Nexus does a lot of graphics card reviews and compares them. I would look threw their site (https://www.gamersnexus.net/) or youtube channel...

Built from scratch case: sub 9L

Turned out nice. Is it acrylic on the back side too? How is the air flow? I would look into switching out the screws for black painted one, but that's just me.

What will be the main use case for the computer and what is your budget, $1500-$2000?

    In Win Chopin build

Nice build. Looks clean. If noise is not an issue no need to go to water-cooled. What did you go with for storage?

Dan A4 v4.1 build. Advice on parts to buy!!!!

While what larkmaj is true about resolution. I have two 27" monitors that are 1080p and sit about 2-2 1/2 feet away from. I have no problem with the sharpness. So I think it is a use preference at that size if you want it a little sharper or more space.

Haven't built a PC since 2003, (long winded) looking for advice thread!

Good find on the RAM. Raid isn't about speed increase it is a method of fault tolerance. Though you may be able to have NVMe drives and SSD drives in the same RAID you don't want to do this. Because of how RAID works it is advised to use the all the same type and size of dives for the RAID...

Dan A4 v4.1 build. Advice on parts to buy!!!!

What is your budget? Is it just for the tower or for the needed peripherals as well? This will help for picking the CPU and other pricey parts. If it is in the budget go with a 144Hz monitor. Best price for frame rate right now. Also, if you have older keyboard and/or mouse you might want to...

Haven't built a PC since 2003, (long winded) looking for advice thread!

I would not run raid on the system drive. You can, but most of the time it's not necessary. You could do Raid 0 on 2 1TB drives for a bit of extra protection with basically no loss to space. Raid 10 would require 4 drives. 2 striped and 2 that are a duplicate of the stripe. Honestly, I...

Want to build a NUC-like mini PC

First off I would ask if you want to overclock or run the CPU at stock speeds and are you going to be doing anything else demanding on the this computer (streaming, video editing, etc.) If you are just gaming I think the 9700K -...

Hey there, Sorry for seeing this so late. Here is what I can say at this time. The build you came up with seems like it is really well put together. For cooling, the Noctua should be efficient at cooling your CPU, so good choice there. For Storage, the drive you went with looks good. If you...
